Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That reminds me of the last time I helped someone in need. An older black man was walking down the street and it was raining heavily. I stopped turned my truck around and offered to give him a ride. He took a second to think about it and then got in my truck. I guess he was questioning the intentions of a white guy with a shaved head. When we arrived back at his house he offered to smoke a cigar filled with marijuana with me for helping him out. I was real sore from the previous day's ride so I said sure. It worked like magic too btw. Three weeks later the guy was shot and killed in his home. It kind of freaked me out. I'll be more choosy who I help from now on myself.

Said his feet were burning up, just released from the hospital this morning. Looked down on his luck or possibly homeless.

As for the druggy comment, really? I don't care what they look like if someone needs help they need help. Just because someone is going through a rough phase doesn't make them any less human.

Get ExpatShield (or Tunlr, etc), and you can watch live streams on bbc.co.uk

As an added bonus when you run ExpatShield, you get some Brit ads on BF.

I can't stand watching basketball. I'd sooner watch badminton. Really.

So far archery has been my favorite non-cycling olympic sport this year.

Hey coasting,

Does the Olympic broadcaster shove gymnastics down your throat everyday, like they do here?

I watched a bunch of woman's beach volleyball.

I don't know who won or even what the score was at any given time. And I didn't care.

I'm watching yesterday's women's sailing. It would probably be better viewing if they had held it somewhere down in the British Caribbean.

BTW, that @#$%&^ masking tape font they put on everything is annoying as hell!
