I used to not be able to sleep if I worked out in the evening. The endorphin rush would keep me up for hours.

Is that the one where you cover a half mile for each pedal revolution?

You sound like my 12 year old daughter. Queen of whine.

I HATE it when the cows come home - why can't they just stay out in the pasture?

Back in college I used to run at the track at night sometimes. I don't think I had trouble as long as it was an hour or more before I went to sleep.

By the way, how did coasting get to 14,000 posts before I did? Go figure.

The pups have finally settled down for a few minutes.

That is how the brain works. All the motor neurons from the lower extremities course through an area of the brain called the reticular activating system. This area, the RES, is involved with levels of alertness, as motor activity occurs wakefulness is stimulated from the motor impulses below. It is for this reason that one walks a drunk or over dose, to keep awake from the activity. Try it driving sometime when you find yourself dozing at the wheel, tighten up your muscles for 10 seconds, rest a few seconds, repeat 3 times. You will suddenly be
bright eyed and bushy tailed.
For this reason I never exercise within 2 hours of sleeping.

I can think of exercise using the lower extremities that I have absolutely no problem to follow up with sleep.

Better pics once I feel like working on it.

Nice CX. Didnt opt for discs?

Drag 12-14-12 03:46 PM

I'm shivering almost uncontrollably. Crap. Could be getting sick. I know, I'll turn on the MacPro. That'll warm the room right up.

Just a budget bike. Only reason I bought it was because my previous CX bike didn't have a carbon fork.

Well you could've just bought a carbon fork, but I see you are living the n+1 lifestyle righteously. :thumb:

My next bike purchase will most likely be a CX. With discs.

Sorry if I missed what his problem is. What is he getting the shot for?

My heart and prayers go out for all those in CT who lost a loved one. Just an horrific tragedy. It's a sad situation when you can't go to school, shopping center, movie theatre or wherever and can't be safe.

gsteinb 12-14-12 03:51 PM

I flatted two miles from my house and nearly needed to call for a ride home. It was that kinda day.

I thought about that. Looking at forks I was going to have to spend around $250. Bike also needed new cables and chain so probably another $100. That puts me at spending $350. I sold my old one for $400 and bought this one for $850 so I was out a total of $450. I figured going from Tiagra 9 speed to 105 10 speed was worth the extra $100.

This was actually an n+0 purchase since I sold the other one to a buddy of mine for $100 a month for the next 4 months. :D

He doesn't have any problems, just a puppy that needed his second shot and his worm medication (preventative). He has to get his third one in two more weeks.

Those things sure wear a puppy out.
