IG's are much quieter than your terrier groups. I like IG's but prefer a bigger dog. Whippet is the in between size between the Greyhound and the IG.

we're also fans of big dogs, and would love a full sized greyhound rescue, or maybe a newfie, but our lifestyle is not conducive to dog ownership. if we ever get an rv, we'll probably get a dog, but it'd make the most sense to get something small. on the other hand, i have friends who traveled a lot with 3 greyhounds, so i guess i really shouldn't rule them out.

I understand what you mean, some cats can take care of themselves, but you don't know Moose . . . he didn't get that name for nothing.

I love Greyts. They are like potato chips, you can't just have one. Kudos to you for saving their life.

Thanks for posting this. I did see it on AP. Be kind to yourself and get an IG for XMAS.

Alright. Since we're posting dog videos, Benson can be pretty fast too. Mainly, though, she likes to be chased.

Oh and my dogs bring home possums and rabbits from the back yard. They also tried to chase down a coyote until I called them off. But they cower in front of a housecat.

If doing so were equally as kind to the animal, I'd already have one. Our current circumstances however would mean it would be spending a lot of time alone or with a house sitter.

It will be high on the list of things to do though if we move closer to my job, or I get a job closer to home.

No.

I've always like larger breed dogs but stuck to registered pure bred's of a non-imposing nature. After taking care of a friends Rottweiler while they took some extended vacations my attitude changed. A couple weeks in I was having people approaching us without concern and commenting on how refined or sleekly he moved for an animal of his size.

Thinking I may get a Cane Corso or Rhodesian Ridgeback as my next dog. Even if it means going a thousand miles out of the way like LAJ did to get his new dog.

How disturbingly appropriate.

RollCNY 12-13-12 12:39 PM

A few years back, we had two dogs (Schiperke and Beagle-Lab mix) and two ferrets. It was always interesting to watch the ferrets stalk and pounce on the dogs. Ounce for ounce, ferrets are tough little buggers.

If the owners instruct the dog to do something like sit and he does it, they must say "Whippet good".

Velo Vol 12-13-12 12:44 PM

Enough about dogs.

Let's talk cats!
