I've been on a 60's Jazz kick lately and was looking up all the greats. I actually said last night, "Brubeck is the only one still alive".

Damn.

She did the Florida IRONMAN and had an incredible swim, followed by an incredible bike ride, followed by as incredible run!

Per Inigo Montoya: You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.

RUOkie 12-05-12 12:13 PM

Actually, the Bike ride was very credible

RecceDG 12-05-12 12:28 PM

Has there been any sort of "mea culpa"?

Or is it Cleopatra all the way?

I could have done wheels carts faster than that bike was moving.......I just wondered what Derwin told her at the 13.1 mile marker, and how surprised he was that she ran 2x faster through the second half of the race. Must have been a sight to behold. I may sound a bit harsh and I wasn't there. However, if anyone had accussed me of cutting the course, not once but twice, and then DQ'ed me...I'd be shouting BS from the top of the mountain and not running away and hiding. Those Tri folks were on to her like stink fired from a skunks hind parts. Can't say as I blame them. If you're man or woman enough to suffer through one of those races you've earned the right to call foul!:(

Just read the article RU posted. "Munchausen by Internet".... I think I would have just called it being full of crap and posting it here.

I just got back from my epic club ride. Brisk wind but otherwise all good.

Did I miss anything??

No you're right on time actually. Some people are starting to address the 800 lb gorilla that's been sitting in the room. Other then that, not much is happening.

gsteinb 12-05-12 12:53 PM

let me pop some corn and then have at it

Hint: Bad TV show from early 1980's. Precursor to stupid reality TV.

Does that help some??

I read it. I even connected the dots.

RecceDG 12-05-12 01:00 PM

I used to watch that show all the time.

It's a shame there is no "come clean" moment. We've all done things we aren't proud of. Taking ownership and admitting it goes a long way towards redemption.

truckstop, ask your husband what he thinks. He did that race last year if I remember correctly. I remember you sitting in the cold/wet waiting for him. IMO, if a person that we thought of as a friend (and most of the people here I'd consider friends of a sort) lies to us, and is a cheater, it is worthy of discussion.

We supported her and she lied about it for some type of secondary gain. The WHY of it is what I'm interested in. What could be really going on in your ACTUAL LIFE would make one need to create a fiction to get attention.
