The 'Why' of it is simple, Ru, it's been staring us all in the face for years. The girl is a narcissist, an attention hound. She can't get enough of it. There's no one on this entire forum who has posted more pictures of themselves than she has. No one! How is it no one has ever noticed that?

And in the midst of SA grabbing all the attention with his fb-style drama a couple months back, who was it that directly pointed to same and immediately began competing for more attention?

And then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, the attention queen was running an ironman . . . . apparently with just minimum training, because as we all should know, if she had been training for that all summer we would have heard about it ad nauseum.

So yeah, if you ask me all the regulars here should be pissed because of the faith and support that was betrayed with deceit . . . just to get more attention.

i hear what you're saying, and i'm disappointed too. (and like you, curious about the why.) but if she's not here and not talking about it, i worry about this degrading into a lynch mob which i'm not sure really helps her either? shaming can be a paralytic, not a motivator.

could also be that i'm a little more hands off about it because i've been absent from here for a while and am learning all this after the fact.

Gosh. Tough crowd. We're all internet identities. Are we really "friends"? Or entertainment? That's a serious question. Sure, I dig you guys and all, but what do we really owe each other? Until she steps up and states her position and reasoning, I say let it be. It's her life. I certainly don't know all the facts. So what if she couldn't make the whole distance. Who are we to persecute her? Would it be better if she didn't even try? And why are we not bashing PCad for what may be the king of attention hounds (no offense)?

So I gather someone fudged some IM time and got called on it? Not to defend anyone, but I claimed to have averaged 25 mph for an hour in town here. I got so wrapped up in all the snark and negativity that followed (in the 41) that I didn't realize until it was way too late (page 2)that I was boasting 25 mph, not 20 mph. Took me a while to live it down, but it goes away.

You are right, this is all entertainment. But I do know, that when I go to Colorado this summer, I will make sure I hook up with LAJ and SBXX. And a some of the people who post here (and moreso at the other place) are coming to my house to stay next June for TulsaTough.(any regulars here are welcome as well) I PM/chat with some people here more than my family. So yeah, they are my friends. And if any of my real life friends did that, I'd call them out too. I've known jen now for 2 1/2 years!

I'm not out to witch hunt or persecute anybody. What she may have done or not done affects my life not at all.

Yet still, as part of our little gang, it would be good to hear from the horse's mouth what happened - and if that includes a "mea culpa", well, so be it.

It does show though that, for those of us who have never met in person (and maybe even for some of those) we don't really know each other.
