I don't think that it even dipped more than 6 degrees during the install. We're going from old gas to newfangled 96% efficient gas. Fan seems to move about the same amount of air as the last one, but with less noise. No soot was mentioned.

soot is more of an issue with oil burning. it's dirty heat.
the new one doesn't kick on with a clunking bang and make the same noises, (2-stage) but it definitely pushes more air. so the furnace itself is quieter, but we can hear the air through the vents a lot more.

Nothing too big. She just told me another lie, to add to the long list of them. I seriously think she needs to be taken in to an inpatient psychiatric program.
