you'll need to be familiar with this show to get back into Canada, I think

I saw a couple episodes of that show at someone's house once upon a time.

I had to google "SWMBO." Still single.

we're in a weird limbo, if i want to keep my job, i really have to be serious about moving to columbus. there are a bunch of projects we want to do to the house though, and it's hard to decide if we just "do enough" to sell it, or do what we'd want to do if we were staying here in case that's what happens.

i'd love to tear out the old chimney, especially since we don't need it anymore with the new furnace, and do a similar bathroom project in both bathrooms with more storage. the downstairs tile is totally 50s and i'd love to do the whole thing in more vintage looking subway and hex tiles, and something more modern upstairs.

neither is really necessary to sell the house. finishing the roof and repainting the exterior are. probably repaint some rooms too. we've also been going through and re-glazing all the windows, and either redoing completely, or just refinishing the trim. there was a remodel of the upstairs at some point and they used cheap crappy trim around the doors and windows, and i got to buy a miter saw just to replicate the 90 year old trim in the rest of the house. then there's replacing some of the rotten sills with new cedar. need to buy a table saw for that in spring.

but, yes. wrapping my bars seems too difficult.

if it were spring, i would probably petition to buy those to replace my aging rolfs. however i was put off of a trip to ben's this weekend by mr. ts to look into the ss cx wheels because it's winter and i probably wont be riding outside until spring. (he has a point, that orange raleigh just got me giddy) so psimets would be an even tougher sell.

sbxx, what would a reasonable lowball for those be?

oh, and because of a critical error by mr. ts with one of the race motorbikes, we have cancelled the snowblower purchase. that money might have to go into some motor repairs. we did however agree that i'm allowed to contact a plow service if need be.

miyata man 01-05-13 12:55 AM

I spoke too soon when I swore off further swearing off of that SS CX.

Ugh. I really want to ride with the club today. It's going to be above freezing too!

However, Mrs. datlas has bought tickets to "Les Miserables" (the live show, not the film) so the entire family is going to Philadelphia to see it.

The weekend ride is going to have to wait until tomorrow.

Thanks for the Steely Dan earworm, Lester.

Hmmmm.

ok.

Just wondering how many other things occur due to your sphere of influence. Tides, perhaps?

Can you actually hire them, or just call to say hello?

Hey thanks, I like it more than I thought I would and I thought I would like it. The red ones just do not look as good. Picked up the new team kit today too. It's very matchy matchy with the blue on the new frame. Velo Garanimals.

Guru is Canadian. I do not know a ton about them, but mostly they do custom. They became our team bike sponsor when our shop sponsor changed. The Flite is their non-custom Asian built road frame (low end for them).

For an MSRP $1500 frame, that looks like a nice deal. Granted that may be Canadian $, but still looks nice.

That's the moon, silly. I, however, control the force that moves raisins to the bottom of a new box of Raisin Bran.

And how desperate are these teams fighting over Andy Reid? Looks like the Cheifs lose

Drag 01-05-13 08:39 AM

Heard on the news this AM, that Lance is considering stepping forward and admit to using performance enhancing drugs. This would apparently affect his life-ban from the sport.

RUOkie 01-05-13 08:58 AM

Ok. I read the carbon chump thread. Dumb. The simple answer is ride/race what you can replace. The only crash I've had that damaged my bike was when I was going 2mph, got distracted and hit a patch of gravel. Trashed my R brifter when the bike was 2 months old. I was pissed but knew I could afford it.

This is one piss-poor attitude, mister! How the hell are we to successfully run a forum without discussing, reanalyzing, and meticulously dissecting in excrutiating detail the most fundamental minutia of everyday biking? There is no such thing as over-beating a dead horse around here, mister!

coasting 01-05-13 10:47 AM

I went to a climbing wall today. That is one hell of a way to prove that cycling leads to pathetically feeble arms. No wonder people laugh at our skinny arms.

gsteinb 01-05-13 11:01 AM

eh, I climbed for years. the best climbers are skinny and ripped. it's all about balance, foot work, and weight to power.

90% of the time the NFL just recycles washed up coaches.
