Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

Well, the cyclocross idea is on hold while I continue my swearing streak. Any suggestions for a stripped crank where the pedal threads in? It's on the tandem, the front cranks, timing (Left) side. Didn't know my own strength. Farking ***** a$$ FSA crapola pot metal buttery soft melted down Hyundai and VB beer cans aluminium! As I was saying, I'd like to know if there's an option other than ordering a new crank arm. And Saccy, if I can help you out with some tires from OS, let me know. I can have something picked up from Supergo and shipped within a week or so. Or if you have a particular brand in mind, let me know. No markup, just sharing the cost of my mounting postage bills.

Thanks all, I'm going back to swearing now.

From the Sanscrit for the incarnation of Godhead, an avatar is the 'body' you 'wear' in a virtual community - an animated, articulated representation of a human which represents you, the user, in any virtual environment. Some of the more sophisticated chat rooms provide the facility to 'chat' over the 'net via the visual representation of interacting human forms.

In Aussie English, it's the piccy under yer name. Muchie's x-ray, my tandem, etc.

531, it's your fault! All your fault!

Actually, you seem a bit gleeful the whole thing's been scrapped.

Hey Expat, do you still have any of those 42mm tube type things? Apparently they will work with my rims, they are the min length stems. I though it was 48mm, but I guess I'm just a dumb schmuck who knows nothing.

No, no, no; actually, I was enjoying the "awards" -- I just think it's funny that so many people got all shirty over it, and that it ended like it did.

(I appoligise in advance for all the inverted commas, but I just have to do it)

Maybe. Go to "edit options" in your "user control panel", and scroll
down to "thread display options", then tick the "show avatars" box.

I might as well. I've gotta do 120 anyway, so another hour or so won't hurt.

What's with the name change? And what's the go with the tubes? Should I bring a roll of sticky tape, and you can just tape 'em to your frame?

Excuse the delay, it took a little while to find a telephone booth
I'll wear the baggy old Gong Ride shirt on Sunday. I should be able to fit five of the little suckers in without too many probs. Might need 3 elastic bands tho (to tie them together in pairs. Stops the ones on top jumping out!)
