Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The shooting seems justified - the gunman told Dimebag Darrell that he "Broke up Pantera". Fair enough.

It's pretty easy - I'm selling some old rpg stuff from my dissolute youth on ebay and you just print the shipping label which you can pay for straight from your paypal account (you can do it directly from the usps.com site too). Just cut out the label, tape it to the package and bung it in the post box. Simple.

They need to lighten up a bit. I don't think anyone's making fun of getting shot/killed. I got shot in the leg as a kid, and it hurt like hell. Beat the ***** out of the guy that did it too. But that was when kids were still given target .22s for Christmas. The guy that got shot broke up the band, and started another. Apparently he deserved what he got. Methinks the shooter may have been a bit imbalanced.

Bikes: Thylacines...only Thylacines.

Other things that are not cool -

1) Canadians
2) Coming into a thread and saying things like "Don't make fun of dead people"
3) Canadians that come into the Aussie Thread saying things like "Don't make fun of dead people"
4) People who don't understand irony or sarcasm. Clearly this disease has jumped the border and it is a sad day indeed.
5) Did I mention Canadians yet?

Oh, and I believe nobody deserves to be shot, Expat - especially if you do something trivial like break up a dumb metal band. It's just this weird philosophy I have

My LBS is going off! he's landed the local Orbea deal (mmmmm....Orrrcaaa), Felt (ho-hum), still chasing Cervello (mmmmmm....twopointfiiiiveteeeem). I only wish I could afford to look at the catalogues

On the brighter side, the 2005 Gitane 2200 is looking pretty groovy and affordable. All white 7005 with carbon forks+stays, Ultegra10s. Good ol al with plenty of bang for bucks.

Don't go knockin' Felt. He's a local California boy, and his bikes are spec'd pretty good for the price, at least in the states.

I don't think I will Ed. It's 9s, no carbon stays, it's uglier than my daughter's father, its a mass produced piece of *****, and it's over $1000 more than a hand finished Gitane.

They're good bikes, sure enuf. Some of the local crew swear by them. But for me, they look like they came out of the bland factory

Bob Felt is an okay dude, I met him once. All I can say is at least he had a hand in the development of Easton's Aluminium, so its probably safe to day his company isn't just slapping some sh¡t carbon rear end on some pro forma 7005 front end and calling it a bike. I won't say anything about Orbea except........they make Giants look good!

What do you think of Areolite, out of Canada? I mean, um someplace above the US, not sure what country.

Those chocolate mint Aero bars? Too good to be Canadian. I think they're from Nestle, which is US based... Damn they're good too.

Aerolites are made in Czekoslovakia or China or something aren't they? My philosophy is this - Ti is such an environmental disaster, that if you're going to buy it, buy it FOR LIFE. Don't skimp, don't be a tight arse, and buy from someone or some company that is seriously good. Granted, that's very un-capitalistic of me, but so be it. It's my Philosophy Of The Week and I'm sticking with it!

They're made in China, which may be an environmental disaster in and of itself. I got my frame factory direct, and am quite happy with it.
