Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

G'day,

Lol...a 2 pot screamer!...marvellous what dehydration can do for the soul!......i'm off the grog at the moment in a vain attempt to lose some weight for 'warnie'...this is particularly hard for a bloke whose "mmmmmmm beer" quote was stolen by Homer Simpson!.....so i'm breaking out as soon as 'warnie' is over.....the challenge is on....can hitchy drink a slab in the car on the way back?....lol

cheers,

Hitchy

Agreed....
Sunday night at the Flower would be 2 x Cascade premium and I'd go just about anything.

sounds wilder than Brisbane's Park Road Ride.

I think that happens a lot. I used to play in a cover band, and I often saw Nicky Winmar at night clubs with a "minder" to keep out of trouble.

I even used to play at The Tunnel!! Yikes -- talk about footballers running wild

Rides around Brisbane, The Park Road Rides and the Zupps rides are pretty wild and harder than crit races.

forget 'retro' jerseys.....the Tunnel!!!!...now there be some memories, (or blank spots, depending on how good a nite it was!).......I remember when they first put the 'alco meter' thingy near the front door...the lads & i looked at it as a challenge!...20 pots each, see who can blow the highest....the lowest reading had to go & hit on a 'sheila' nominated by the rest of the group...lol.....generally the one that was the most 'attractively challenged'!!!!...ah boys will be boys........so who you play with 531?...any names that will 'ring a bell'.......bet I've come up to you & said, "do ya's know Stairway to heaven?"....lol,

cheers,

hitchy

Tunnel....lol. Used to go there with a bunch of bike racer mates....100% strike rate for the Edster down there. Great wicket for scoring runs.

G'day,

sadly Hitchy was never able to get off the mark at the tunnel. A couple of reasons for this might be:

1/ hitchy is an ugly bastard

2/ hitchy is an ugly bastard & would normally be well 'primed' by the time he got to the tunnel. (ever notice it's hard to pull a sheila when ya can't talk?)

3/Hitchy is an ugly bastard & would normally be well primed by the time he got to the tunnel....from the Grainstore!...or the 'butter factory', at which the hunting was better! (& 30 less pots consumed!)

cheers

I need to b*tch about JetStar. I made a booking on the 10th of March for a trip to Noosa with the family. The flights out of Melbourne were originally 9.45am, which is a reasonable time to get wife, 2 kids and a truck load of luggage to Tulla.

The Bast*rds emailed me today and congratulated me of flying JetStar, and happily announced that "due to feedback from their wonderful customers, JetStar were delighted to be able to change my flight to 6.10am"...WTF! I rang them and their response was, "well, doesn't every airline change their flights?"

I requested to speed to a supervisor to make a complaint. Response, "Sir, this is a Customer Service line, if you wish to make a complaint, you'll have to write a letter." I ***** you not.

Please tell me their is a journalist/TV producer who'd be interested in hammering these pr1cks as I would be happy to complain.

Was that you?!?!?

We were there on Sunday nights for about 2 years, around '95 to '97. The band dude's name was Andrew Hosking & Coupe de Ville, but just remember, it was just a cover band. We were w@nkers.
I spent most of the gigs thinking about my bikes

I was with him between '94 and '99, so I don't remember being at the "Linc" -- and we were on a wage, so he was the one making the all the money, and fair enough too; the girls were there for him, not us.

Remember Caroline with the fake tan, who ran The Tunnel? She was a red head in denial: fake tan (all over) and bleached hair. I think she
