Count me in the Useless bucket. It looks likes a competition hub of some sort (flip wheel over to change ratios), but 48 spokes? Rad BMX racer?

definitely BMX, 110mm spaced? 48 is standard drilling for BMX hubs.

Looks like many of the hubs sold at Danscomp BMX.

What's the best way to break a chain if you haven't got a chain break tool?

[Edit] give up trying and visit your friendly LBS :D

 I've been labelled! But I ain't no freak. I'm just scum with conflicting interests: Family first, sleep and work fit in somewhere, bike last. :([/QUOTE]

Thanks Munchie.
Training Plan:
Step 1: Ride bike more often!

Almost impossible without wrecking it, in my opinion. I once tried to break a bit of old chain to make a chain whip, and it took me about 40mins to smash one link using a nail punch, hammer and a mallet.

I also thought I'd be clever a couple times by re-using Shimano pins when swapping chains from one bike to the other. I got away with it most times, but on two occasions the chain busted.

I can remember having to break chains with nail punch and hammer. Seems they're a bit tougher these days.

What is it with Ebay? It seems to be a giant perv room. I always get plenty of watchers, but it seems they all have very deep pockets. :(

Nah, I can break one with my monster legs. At least, that's what happened on the tandem. 53-11 could probably do it for you too...

I'll bet he's found a fargin jetpack on Ebay :D

Brian 01-13-05 11:31 PM

No Goldwing (shudder!), no jet pack (now there's an idea...)

My favorite stainless watch, the Chase Durer, needs a new battery. It's basically a solid chunk of stainless steel. So I switched to my Lineage titanium watch. That's more than a 50% reduction in weight! I flew over the Donald Street bridge today, in the heat. It's gotta be the watch.
