Expat, apologies if i've missed any previous explanation but whats a MTB rider doing in the road forum.
Not that I object, when my road bike was getting replaced, I tried to talk munchie into an MTB ride... only to discover that he doesnt own one! With a name like Rockmuncher too..? ;) Anway, on the basis that I havn't missed any obvious sarcasm...where do you ride? Ourimbah, GNWalk? Drop me a PM if you're heading out and want some company... on another bike... not the deathtrap... I mean tandem! :D |
I'm in the road forum because it's The Aussie Thread. I'm American. That should make more sense. We're in Newie. When Munchie comes by this way on one of his rides, we meet up and ride past the beach, and stop for a cup of hot chalky. Not choccy, chalky. Tastes like *****. We have to pick a new place. Works well - he gets to lower his pace, and I pick mine up a bit. I sold my road bike, so I rode my Cannondale until the Headshok crapped out. Just set up my spare MTB for a little road work. Can you think of any reason not to be part of this fine thread?

Hitchy |
The lighthouse is still there, for anyone who was worried. Had a good long ride, and even found a nice soft patch of sand to turn around in. Been so long since I crashed, but I can still release before the bike hits the ground.

Robbie McEwen is Australian National Road Champion....

Hey Munchie, email or PM me if you're going to be in town tomorrow. I need to know what time to wake up. 10 minutes before you get to Jesmond is about right for me.

For those of you from Vic........do you know of a place near the corner of Sydney Rd and Glenlyon Rd in the Brunswick area that sells old style riding tops.
I saw a guy with an old Chinzano top and he said he got it from this place on Sydney Rd......typical me forgot the name of the place!! He said the tops are about $50each. |
Hey Expat, you oughta drop into Rices Bookshop (was at the West End of Hunter St) and see if you can get a hold of some Bill Bryson. It might help you understand Oz a little better. He seemed to have figured it out. If you don't think you need any more therapy it's still a great cack. "Down Under" and "Notes from a Big Country" were his Oz based yarns I think.
