nah, job interview first thing, and a sore hip flexor. Think I got the same ailment as Leyton H.
|
I'm guessing that if my new girlfriend was Bec Cartwright I'd have a sore hip flexor too!

fnar, fnar :D

Went to bed after the second set. Couldn't stand the thought of Hewitt worshipping himself at the end if he had won. Happy to see Safin do the job. Deserved it after knocking out Federer. And one of his personalities seems OK, too. |

I could just hear mummy now about Kim Clijsters: "She might earn a fortune darling, but she's *is* one of those Europeans, and we can't have that in the family. Dump 'er!" And now his sister is getting in on the pro-women's circuit. Heaven help us!!! At least the broken wrist (sustained in a bathroom fall, wink, wink, nudge, nudge) will delay the onset, |
Safin owned Hewitt last night. Actually, I thought it was a farken boring match. Not having watched tennis for a few years, are all the men's matches like that? Just a baseline slugfest??

The only chip'n'charger left in the game of any note is Henman and it's not like he's ever going to win a major.
|
Yep, all from the baseline. Women's tennis has achieved what it set out to do... make its game universal among the men, too. It's almost as boring now as watching golf, sailing (and I do sail) or dare I say it, the intermediary bits between the sprints on the Tour de France.
Actually, I wonder how you TdF-ophyles are going to be after three weeks of watching guys spinning along. Dammit, I can't tell one rider from the other in the bunches. If it wasn't for those overhead shots showing the peloton splitting at roundabouts, or the crashes, what really is there to see? :D |

It's a 'thrill of the chase' scenario where the chase is predicting an outcome, be it in the next 30 seconds, 30 minutes, or the end of the race. It's sheer madness because it's so inconsequential, but damned interesting all the same. Especially if you add beer. |

... Especially if you add beer. Ahhh, beer. The eternal elixir that puts life into *anything* (even a tennis match). Maybe that was the problem last night -- I ran out of beer! |
What about the commentating last night........how much does JA love Hewitt.....it was sickening.
|
Yeah, PaulBravey (i think) brought up jingoism a few pages back when referring to American sports broadcasting, but seems like JA is a zen master at it.
But the red headed git was even more annoying because he switched camps 5 times a game. Every game after the first set. |

Went for a 100km ride today and I feel like I've tried to castrate (edit: oops, got my type of genital mutilation wrong) myself with a butter knife. With that and having to pull chunks of chamois out of my arse after ever ride, me thinks my cheap, 12 year old Netti's have had their day. So help a fullah out while he's still able to sprog out a goodun. :( don't skimp on cheap nicks....your 'saccy' will thank you in the long run. Try Ebay, (don't buy 2nd hand knicks though!:D....people do though, can you believe it?). Some good quality stuff to be had at pretty reasonable prices. Avoid anything branded 'Prorace', its absolute crap. Hitchy |
Oi you lot...been looking for a job...fark, not much around. I left here when there was 165 pages of crap. I can't believe there is not 232 pages of crap, and I will not be reading it al.
Haven't been riding much, but have had a chance to swim a bit. BTW, I was at my tennis club recently having a 'pit stop' when a tall American stood beside me at the urinal and proceeded to do what we blokes do. I now boast that I took a pee talking to Andy Roddick!! Funny thing is, he wasn't all that talkative...go figure?? |

apparently more panels makes a difference too - more shaped fit. and make sure you look after your new ones. dry them flat on a towel out of the sun etc. they last longer this way. cheers marty |

So what if I have to replace them every 2 years. Big deal. I have to replace the Shimano drive train every 4 months! Steel is real Munchie! |

Maybe it's worse in warmer climates, I dunno. Having too much talc around the place can make it harder to grip the tyre to get it on, and have you ever tried to get ALL the talc off the tube to fix a flat? Puncture glue is very temperamental, it won't stick to talc coz NOTHIN sticks to talc. Also, I like to use very high pressures (~160psi), and when the tyre gets a little old and a bit stretched, I get paranoid that the presence of talc will slightly increase the chances of the tyre blowing off the rim :p |
