Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I had recommended Bernard Cornwell's Saxon Chronicles, but can't remember the first book's name. Harry Harrison's the Hammer and the Cross series is also phenomenal.

I just noticed that the title for this thread was changed back, when did that happen??

Not that it matters much, as the end is near anyway.

I finally decide on what to do for a rain bike, and try to order wheels, fork, and a veloce group from Ribble, and my credit card fraud service kicks in and won't let me order. I cleared it up with them, and now have no clue if my order went through or not.

Grrrrr

That black Friday stuff was over rated.

Took this at 10 am yesterday at a local mall. After that walked into a wal-mart got what I needed and got out with no lines at checkout. I feel cheated.

That's probably because they were all done by 10am. Don't they start at Midnight?

Despite the down time? You need loftier goals next year.

7000 this year had more mtb related goals as well so the number was lower than I usually have it.

All the shouting and fighting was pretty much over by midnight Thursday at my Target and the store was nearly customer-free between 2 and 6am on Friday. By 630 when I left work, it was starting to pick up again but there were no "doorbuster" deals left so everyone was very mellow. We greeted them with a cheery "Good morning" but they seemed like they mostly wanted coffee and to be left the hell around to wander about.

I don't really keep track of my mileage, but I just checked Strava which does it for me.

Only 3870 miles. Plus 420 miles of running.

Sounds very mediocre. Must ride more.
