I just bottled my third batch yesterday. My IPA is fantastic. The Belgian Triple is great, but needs a few months in the bottle. The American ale I bottled yesterday should be good too (a clone of Rogue Dead Guy Ale)

it was a meeting to plan for the upcoming season of group rides which start in may for the club. there was discussion about scheduling and routes and picking ride leaders, etc. i mostly went just to get reacquainted with the group after taking a few years off from riding with them. that, and the organizer lives a block away from me.
it was 20° today. one girl who commutes year-round rode there. everyone else talked about how their computrainer classes were going and the indoor tt that the club's team placed 3rd in yesterday.

no, but i was sort of shamed into thinking about it by one woman who made it a point to mention she's run outside nearly every day this winter. she was probably one of the women who took offense when i said something about running being stupid on the group's facebook page.
i kind of miss it to be honest. i'm sure that will change pretty quickly once i get back out to do it.

...no joke. The three years I spent living in and around Minneapolis sent me running to California like one of those kids in a "Scared Straight" video.

You know, I'm a New Yorker and have also lived in New England (Boston & Maine) and the south (NC, Alabama & Georgia). I find LA crazy on so many levels- expensive, completely untenable traffic wise, loopy people. BUT the weather trumps it all. I can ride my bike almost every day of the year. We can sail year-round. 95% of the time, it's sunny & bright, which I find very energizing. I have simply had my fill of cold, snow/ice, and grey weather. And heat with humidity breeding daytime mosquitos.
More power to y'all who like seasons and snow. I can't stand em.

i like winter. this winter has been particularly brutal, and i'm not necessarily a huge fan of going outside and feeling like the air is punching me in the face, but i'm also extremely uncomfortable in hot weather (i'm less and less happy for every degree over 85). i really enjoy having 4 distinct seasons.
mosquitos the size of small birds are the worst though, the worst.

That's part of London I went to pretty often. I never saw no streakers.
