Some very kind people, sponsors, and repurposing parts have kept our cycling costs lower than club soccer. Just to show how bad I am this is "my" 4th < 15# bike, 2nd with Di2... 2nd TT bike - both same electronics. They not just sitting around, so no regrets (other than Di2 getting scratches).
Not hot, but good for an 8 year old. He uses the same seat today.
11 year old - Di2 (now wifes bike)
The Cannondale with the bars turned down too much @ 14
AND
FELT DA2 - repurposed MAVIC Mectronic (I'll fix it up and enter it)
As entered in the HotRNot above - the Di2 MASI @15

You have no idea. They are really all my bikes - he just rides them.

By saying they are my bikes - I meant - I paid for them, or he didn't pay anything for them. When he was 4 I would run and he would ride. I also modified the tandem for him and created 50mm Campy C-record cranks - and we road a bit. Then he got faster. I actually ride with him about a day a week now while he does his Zone 2 stuff - with others. I'm not sure at 16 he thinks its so great riding with daddy.

Even if he doesn't think it is "Cool" now, he will look back at those days and cherish them.

Crappy pic taken in a hurry with my phone
I posted a photo previously of my bike with alloy wheels, looks much better with carbons, if I do say so myself!

Another phone picture. This was not going to be entered (because the gumwalls may bother some), but the comment when she was hanging on the wall made me think I will. She is used, has hit the deck (right before Nationals) and damaged my engine.
This is Hanna The Jet. A few things make her different.
She has 1992 Mavic Mectronic wireless shifting. You can see one button under the right red tape.
She has one front chainring. The front derailleur is there to hold the chain on.
She has a front hydraulic brake and no cable housing catching the wind
She is a 7 speed and has the 12T and 13T milled off the rear cassette and 14T chain line (we did it before Tony Martin) is near perfect with 52X14 or 52X15 (junior gears) The cassette as pictured is 110g
One of 3 Nimble crosswinds are on the front. Another is available for the rear and is an option in TTs with side winds.
Rear bearings are ceramic as is the BB. The freewheel prowls have been tuned to offer minimal resistance in coasting (really important with 52x14 limit).
She can be UCI legal by removing that water bottle and maybe some tape.

You must be the only person on the planet running Mektronic on a modern TT rig! Why would you go with that drivetrain? I like the bike, just seems like an eccentric choice for the parts.

Surely you're not THAT sheltered or new to the internet! It's an acronym for Not Safe For Work.
I don't mind the gumwalls, but the whole thing looks kinda kinky. I'd say that's the case for TT bikes generally, but this one especially. 'Eccentric' is putting it mildly, but some people think that's extra hot.

NSFW? And it has raced several times...although USACycling has some TTs they do not allow TT bikes.
I would think about going to Di2. Just that I owned this and have Di2 on the other bike and don't really have anyone that wants to pay for the TT bike.
I'd post video, but this is a picture thread.

9 speed is slightly more precise than 11 speed.
We only need a lower gear for starting then 1-2 for riding, other than a hill course.

I think the point was that the bike is too sexy to be appropriate for work-viewing. For what it's worth, I agree—everything about that bike (okay, aside from maybe the gumwalls) is goddamned beautiful.

NSFW - I had to look it up. Never heard that. I work at home...by myself...(when not at a customer place)...that might explain a bit.

Except for the pink pedals, that bike is pretty dang hot.
