Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Never mind. Wasn't updating database because I was trying to use the wrong log in information. #Facepalm

Just uploaded my ride today, I noticed that I was in the top 5 on some segment. I put in some effort on the ride, but it was the consistent sort, with no real all-outs, so I was puzzled on how I could have landed so high on a segment. Clicked on the link to find out... yeah, someone created a segment around the corner from my house, it's all of 2 blocks long in a highly residential area and they had the balls to call it a "climb" in the title with an elevation gain of 31 feet. Jezuz.

Most impressive, Heathpack. Very well done.

Great ride @Heatpack. Bonking is a horrible feeling, but one we all have experienced. Strong work to power through it. And I've never met dickhead cyclists like you did before Gibraltar. You should have Cinzano'd them

When I feel a little sorry for myself, I realize others have fought through like things, and will again. Lot's of inspiration here, surgeonstone. Thinking only good thoughts for your upcoming days.

PR'd the 5k race this morning. 4th in age group.

Then weight pull antics with Benson after lunch.

Now I'm too pooped to pedal.

...I know just what you mean. Just thinking of all that weight Benson pulled makes me tired, too.

@Heathpack's ride report makes me think that if I do lie down and go to sleep, I might have nightmares involving hills and bicycles.
