Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I got in line behind three Seattle Seahawks chearleaders at the coffee shop today. I was initially excited but they were pretty annoying.

They look much larger on TV.

Then I'm reading that the Raiderettes are paid $1250 PER SEASON and most other NFL cherleaders don't do much better. Harsh!

If those don't magically cure it, it's on to REI , and Superfeets.
I suppose I could put bmx pedals on it (and I would, if I hadn't given them away). But, I'm planning to go with spd and mountain/touring shoes eventually.

I had my fitter make Sidas orthotics for me. They did a world of good.

Yeah. It's a part time job. I think some of them are hoping to be the next Paula Abdul.

...mountain/touring shoes are mostly what I'm modifying here, two sets of Shimano SPD shoes and a pair of Time's and something else I forget.

Fortunately I have one of these thingamajigs that work well for stretching the lasts.

Exactly.

That's why it's my commuter. Some days, I need to work a little bit, and it's easy to work hard on the Puch. Other days, it's just a ride to work.

Mainly taller, but somewhat curvier also. They were about 5'0", like blue and green elves!

They were in Seagals lycra tops with short shorts and had pom-poms in tote bags. I think those were their training kits, though.

...in general, tall, curvy girls don't do well in gymnastics, which is where a lot of cheerleaders start out, I think.

They have cheer competitions here at the Memorial Auditorium, about three blocks from the Bike Kitchen, and on those weekends,
the whole area is a sea of hopeful little girls in glitter makeup and team uniforms, trying to make the cut. #adorable_but_crazy
