Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

[QUOTE=palesaint;17445481]Hey HP, Has anyone mentioned Mio as yet another alternative to Garmin?

Cyclo 3.0" WIFI - Mio/QUOTE]

I just bought their optical heart rate wrist band and like it a lot. If their other products are as good, they are worth giving them a try.

Data collecting is a brain wiring thing. Some people do it, some don't. It's neither right or wrong in context with the enjoyment derived.

It's sort of like a clean desk vs. messy desk type of thing or fat wallet full of junk vs. money clip with the bare essentials. The brain knows what it wants. Think Meyers-Briggs testing or any of the other brain typing theories. Never assume that one knows how another individual should act.

Here is the search page results on ebay: wireless bike computer | eBay
I went straight from wired to GPS. No old bike computers laying around.

Funny you should mention that. I've been a data collector since childhood, born with it. I started keeping snowfall records back when I was a kid. Still do it to this day. But I have zero interest in cycling data, that's not why I cycle.

I used to have a Ford Fiesta with no front seats, just had a milk crate for a while, then upgraded to a small child's chair from the Sunday School room. Speedo worked fine, though.

I have several Wahoo products, and they work great. I can't speak about whether they'll help with HP's specific computer issues, but they work much better than the Garmin stuff. Hard to describe, but "they just work".
