In the time I have been gone, I looked at my own MRI, did a spinal tap, counted the cells in the spinal fluid, looked at the other guys MRI, saw my second opinion case, and also a recheck exam.
What have you guys been doing?
Next I have to phone interview an intern candidate. She is just finishing her PhD in Neuroscience at Stanford. Slight problem. She might be smarter than me.

See, I'm amazed by a healthy Aaron Rodgers. This is probably understandable as the Vikings have had QB concerns my entire life (other than one year with Brett Favre ['09] and one year where our receivers caught any ball thrown to the right zip code ['98]), so watching a great QB go to work is like magic.

Very good running backs do indeed seem to grow on trees. It's like they can bring anyone in to replace the regular guy who gets hurt in the second game of the season and not even notice he's gone. Or maybe it's just the great offensive line. As for last night. That guy isn't human.

After football, we still have the Stanley cup and the NBA championships. Then, before we worry about MLB World Series, pre-season football will have started.

You forgot March Madness. Even the Super Bowl can't top that.

Ah, I thought that you were continuing in the context of NFL runningbacks and didn't realize that you were referring to a collegiate player. In any event, I didn't watch the game - can't get in to college ball, for some reason.

OMG that girl is hot ****. Seven primary author publications in the past 6 years, plus two more second author pubs, plus another one accepted since she sent in her CV and just got favorable review back on yet another. I will for sure be much better than her at clinical neurology, but only because she will be a total newby at it. I can 100% get her placed into a neuro residency, which is all I really care about, that part is a huge feather in my cap, makes it easier for me to get the next strong candidate. Now I start working the behind-the-scenes stuff. I call her professors to "check her references," they tell her I called. I give her the contact info for my current intern, who went to the same vet school as her. He says good stuff. Then she knows I am interested and hopefully she wants to come here. That's how the system works.
