Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I found the damn on Google Maps... didn't take long at all. Hiyoshi Damn.

This unique circular bridge was built in 1998 as part of the neighboring Hiyoshi Spring spa resort.
The pedestrian bridge is situated at the foot of the Hiyoshi dam and has a diameter of 80 m. Both the bridge and the spa resort were designed by Japanese architect Norihiko Dan (https://www.dan-n.co.jp).

My gosh good job.
It's a lovely area for a picnic and relaxation etc. You can take an elevator trip down inside the wall and there's a small museum / children's activity area inside it.

Crappy picture, but I just finished putting it together. 12.75 pounds as it sits. Still need to decide on tires though.

This is the same setup I have on our tandem. Works almost perfectly. Some chatter in the 34t chainring with the two smaller cogs, but I shouldn't go there anyway. This does not work with SRAM cassettes for some strange reason, but works with Shimano cassettes and the newer (Exact Actuation) SRAM road and mtb RD. KMC chain seems to work best (the LBS tried KMC, Shimano and SRAM chains). The tandem is less sensitive since our daVinci has an extra-long chain line. The Volagi came with Ultegra shifters which are certainly very nice, but I ride the tandem 75% of the time and was forever shifting the RD in the wrong direction on my previous 105-equipped road bike.

I probably need a bit less drop to the bars, but that will be easily solved with a slightly different stem. Unfortunately, I'm cursed with relatively long legs and a shorter torso thus the exposed seat tube.

that explains it. looking at the components on there it couldn't have been 12.75 ready to ride.

80's Maruishi Roadace 5. Changed most parts from chrome to black including the headset and I did all the work myself. Not bad for my first bike. Lots of thanks to some members on here that gave me good pointers and critiques.

I also posted on the "hot r not" thread. Hopefully 1 or 2 people like it.

Those are AeroMax wheels off of E-bay right? like 100 bucks for the pair? Essentially they are Vuelta Lites correct?

Yea. I needed new wheels and these are the only ones I could get with my budget. Would have loved to be able to get some carbon wheels or easton wheels. I figured I would wait till I get a better frame to get the easton or carbon wheels. That won't be for a long time cus I am BROKE! They are good wheels though...

I am sure they are an improvement over whatever you had. I think they weigh in at like 2100-2200 with skewers. 100 bucks for handmade wheels, you can't beat that. I personally I would still grab up some Fuzion M1's for the 175 shipped. They are about 500gr lighter and the F1's I have, which they no longer sell are pretty damn incredible for that price.
