first run on the Nashbar steel CX. trial ride to my office. only 3.2 mi, but uphill the whole way, took 16min. of course coming back took 9min.

then 20mi at a steady pace on the alternating packed/loose gravel/pavement/dirt of the Erie Canal trail.

weird having gears again (1st time since late 80's/early 90's).

now going over the 722ts for the urban run to church in the morning.

Well, today I actually got in my first ride since my recent hospitalization and surgery! I made a whopping 3 miles. My heart meds are kicking my ass, because I had dead legs, and no stamina, but I still got in the ride.

Oh yeah, I rode my FG rather than my road bike.

Today I bought another frame pump and later found a tiny tucked away shop that deals in vintage parts and frames. Holy crap, C&V grail shop. I didn't know a place like it existed in LA. My new go-to spot for old parts with fair prices. I got my rear derailer and had to restrain myself from getting brake levers and other parts.

They got you on beta blockers? Docs have my wife on a mystical cocktail of beta blockers, prozac and Xanax due to anxiety. She still rides her FG only, too.

Hope you keep on keepin' on.

300 MG Toprilol, 480 mg Cardizem, 0.25 Digoxin, 5 mg warfarin, 25 mgSpironaldactone, 40 mg Lisinopril, and yeah, I'm keepin' on. Add in 50 mg Tramadol, three times a day for arthritis in my knees, hips and shoulders, so I'm probably having some metabolic depression from the opioid, as well.

Today I did about 20 miles interspersed with beer tastings and a homebrew class. Tried some beers from a brewery that isn't open yet. Good times.

Today I cleaned up all the chaos from my recent bike build. I didn't get any riding in, so I feel pretty sad about that. Tomorrow I'm going to take gigantor up some climb repeats. Hoping I can actually handle it fixed.

Today I...

Well, actually last Monday night bought a Pake top tube pad for the Vilano. Nylon/Cordura Maroon color just under $ 20 delivered off ebay. Looks nice, pleased with it.

Tonight I met up with a friend who was riding home from work.
We took the long scenic route to get down to the riverfront.
She is my favorite riding partner, so it was a good ride. : )
