your right. he is a great guy and very knowlegable. if i had a grand or so, i would probably buy that bike. it is very stunning to look at, and im sure to ride. i just thought that, for craigslist, its a little pricey. im sure he has his reasons for not putting it on ebay. if he did, he might be able to get the price he wants for it.

If I had that big of an item, I would certainly try CL first since it is free and you don't have to worry about shipping damage. If it doesn't sell for what he wants, then I would move on to Ebay.

interesting. he has too much time and money invested in the bike to fix it? and what are "wide arm Chorus"? I wonder if he will take 700 since it will cost 100 to make it ridable?

+1 . Been doing shipping all over the world for nearly 15 years with a car hobby and the PITA factor plays big on where I sell. Such a factor that in fact, the quick, local, cash-in-hand sale from CL is justifiably worth a lower sale price to me....and makes for some nice win-win opportunities for buyers looking to score a bargain & post it on their enthusiast message board...lol...

Vintage Gios Torino Italian - $400 (Virginia Beach Oceanfront)

https://norfolk.craigslist.org/bik/1559011695.html

I have a vintage Gios Torino road bike I used for Triathlons, however, no longer ride. Frame is 62cm. Bike was full campagnolo, however I put on Shimano bar end indexed shifters and a 105 rear derailleur for Tri''s. I have the original campagnolo, nuovo record rear derailleur as well as the drop tube shifters if you wanted to return it back to its vintage state. Mavic G40 rims on raised flange campagnolo hubs. Look arc pedals and I will throw in a pair of sz.12 Nike quick release shoes. Nitro neck and cat eye computer. Looking at vintage bike websites, this is a sought after classic that is hard to find. Competitively priced for this vintage beauty.

GEORGENA TERRY SPORT TOURING - $850 (Madison-Eastside)

Reply to: sale-vyzf2-1559950714@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
https://madison.craigslist.org/bik/1559950714.html

Absolutely beautiful Georgena Terry Sport Touring bicycle. This is an earlier Terry that was handbuilt by craftsmen that used to work for Serotta. It has a Dupont Imron paint job. If you have never seen a bike with this kind of paint, you will be amazed. The measurements are as follows. ST 56 C-C, and the TT is 53 C-C. I am 5'10" and with a 120 stem it fits me perfectly. With a shorter stem, it could fit someone as short as 5'8" if they had long legs. Terry's shorter top tubes allows for this. The bike was built-up by me using only top notch components. Most of them are new, or near new. It is built with the following: Ritchey Bio-Max bars, 42 C-C. Tektro brake levers. Salsa quill stem, 120. Shimano 600 hdst. DuraAce 9 speed bar end shifters. Shimano Deore long cage rear der. with a 11-34, 9 speed cassette. A Sram hollow link chain . Shimano Ultegra brake set. Shimano SPD dual sided pedals. Campy Centaur Front der. Shimano Ultegra searpost. Mavic Cosmos wheelset with new Panaracer Stradius Sport folding tires. 700x26. Bontrager saddle. Ritchey Cross crankset. 48x38 with a Shimano Octalink BB. Also has a Topeak rack with a basket that snaps in place and can be removed easily and replaced with a snap on bag. Yellow Deda handle bar tape. I set this bike up for me and took no short cuts. I have more than my asking price invested. This set up would be good for crusing around town or going cross country. It's as solid as it gets. It is one of the best handling bikes I have ridden. I put about 100 miles on it and was totally amazed at the ride. The frame is in excellent shape with the usual paint chips for a bike this age. It also comes with a bottle of touch up paint. I have way too many bikes and this one has to go. Hunter Green. You won't be disappointed. Comes with two Elite water bottle cages. Again, most of the components are either new or like new.
