I just signed up to do two crits and a short TT this weekend. I much prefer road races to crits and I haven't been on my TT rig since last June.
And it is very likely to be raining.
And I am woefully out of shape.

That's just awful. Don't know how I could cope with that kind of fail in my house!

this is why I don't have children... I couldn't stand their constant failures and incompetence.

There better be a good reason she only made 100s in three out of six of her classes. I'm fricken beside myself... Grrrr.
Too bad there's no snow here or I'd make her shovel the neighborhood clean.

The things we do to increase our self loathing because we enjoy it. Or because we're masochists. Or both.

You guys know I'm joking, right? I couldn't be more proud of her.
We hardly ever help her with homework. She does it by herself, checks it, and everything. We just help her study for tests.
Same with our oldest.

Shimano.
Alas, way too young, in bike years. (You are a most perceptive one!)
Edit: And botto, I was thinking of you when I elected not to start a thread in the racing forum entitled "Thinking about Hed Jet 6/9."

very nice wheel, I like it, the only quibble is the acceleration... the wheels aren't as light as tubulars, and they don't accelerate like super-lightweight wheels.
I quite like mine, and I'd absolutely do it again. (especially for the price they sell for used)

long day at work. Parent's are on their way in for the evening. They're leaving tomorrow to head onto Knoxville.
Hopefully I can get a sail in this weekend. Still have to build my trailer, install the wiring in my car, and do some work on the boat.

Long day at work here, too. 3rd day of the period and I have 6.9 hours. Just when it seems it's getting better it drops off again.
Got another diesel truck in with a full tank of gasoline. Don't know how so many people screw that up.

Fedex attempted to delivery my package from inside Ride today. Called and tried to get it delivered to the office. No luck. Won't be home tomorrow and they don't deliver on Saturday. My diversion from the CT will just have to wait.

Let's put it this way. If you got me a Stinger9 rear and a Stinger4 front, I'd trade you right now for the Jets and I'd even give you money since I rode the Jets like 40 times. Maybe 50. If you got me a Stinger9, I'd do a trade, giving you both wheels in return for a Stinger9, if you gave me a bit of money. I don't like the Jets, too heavy, and at 50-52 mph the front wheel gets the bike all weird. On the Bastogne it's fine at 50-odd mph, even in gusty swirly wind (like 2 to 20 feet off the back of a semi).
Great for training, yeah, but I can have more fun with lighter wheels.
If I were to do it again, I'd avoid the Jets. I'd hope/look for a carbon clincher that's tall for the rear and a similar height one for the front. I'd guess that such a set up would weigh, on the lighter side without being stupid expensive, about 1600g. Then I'd be okay with a 50 mph speed limit, acceleration, etc.

There's been some news bubbling around the local racing community about putting together a group to build a velodrome here. Now an article in the local paper. Baby steps.
