I really like these classics, not many on this form are examples from the 1950's or early and it's nice to see your babies. Thanks for sharing, hope to show my fathers 1958 Grand Prix.

My 76ish(?) Gran Sport set up as a single-speed gravel bike. Chorus levers and Nuovo Record hubs. The BB is a bit trashed from rain and mud, though, and I'm too cheap (and bitter about needing a special tool) to pick up one of those JA Stein crank pullers right now, so it's adventuring days are on hold.

Hi Drummerboy1975,
Do you happen to know all of the colors offered on the 1958-1960 Lenton GP's?
Thanks,

Thanks,
Color offerings varied a bit over those years. Check out Peter Kohler’s comprehensive write up of the whole Raleigh Lenton series:

1973 under an old repaint, currently running in this year’s Clunker Challenge 100 but slated to get nicer parts when I no longer have to keep my total expenses under $100. Even with heavy Bell Streetster tires is has a lovely gliding quality to it. It most definitely deserves upgrades!

Finally have a rideable Raleigh in-house, a '71 Carlton/Raleigh Professional Track. Front brake only, so I went with an aero lever and 'cross lever for convenience/safety, and after riding with narrow 700c tires decided to chuck in some 32mm 650b tires to see how it worked out. Pretty well, with a fairly high bottom bracket I'm not scraping through corners, and the extra cush helps. Wheels/tires, bars/stem, brake levers, chain and pedals modern, all else vintage. Photos show a Suntour Superbe Pro front brake caliper, but now it sports a proper Campy Record caliper. And the lack of a brake body/hood on the right side was kind of a pain, so I installed a modern Cane Creek tandem dummy aero-style lever body.

I just finished refurbishing a '74 or '75 Grand Sports. This bike calls out for gugification, but the paint and chrome are just too nice. I left it mostly original, but replaced the front derailleur with a mid-80s Shimano because I do not like the front simplex. But the rear simplex works pretty darn well. Still needs handlebar tape.

Thanks! Wasn't sure I'd be able to snag this, it started as a complete bike, and got relisted a couple/few times before being listed as frameset only.

Turned out I knew the seller and he was local, so I got a nice tour of his collection in addition to being able to pickup the frame.

Thanks for noticing, my steerer tube etc are fine, and one fork was slightly bent. They are correct to each other now, though they still look slightly pushed back to me. I put some better beater wheels on and this bike flies, handles nicely and eats up the road, so im good. Thanks again! - John

I am a new member on this forum and am needing any information on a Raleigh Super Tourer that anyone could help me with. It appears to be all original but not sure. I felt there are more people here that can help me with a vintage Raleigh. I was going to post some picture but I have to have 10 posts before posting pictures. Thanks

You can check what’s on your bike with what’s listed in the mid-70s catalogs: Raleigh Archives - Page 4 of 5 - Three Speed Hub

This is reported to be a 1952 but the rear hub was robbed in a supposed "upgrade" before it came to us.

This was a Christmas bike for Ms. merziac a few years ago after she called out bikes like it on Call the Midwife on PBS.

This was a total freakin home run, she was thrilled.

It has a billboard of engraved numbers on the front of the ST as was common in Denmark where this also supposedly came from so who knows.

It is in good shape, rides ok and is cool as heck imo.

^ Nice! One identifying feature of 50s Raleighs that I’ve found is that almost every part is stamped “Raleigh Industries.” Branding!

It's dirty and needs some TLC, but this is my Dad's 1984 Prestige that I'm getting ready to get back on the road. Picked up a Suntour Superbe Pro rear derailleur to replace the one that's on it. One it gets here, I'll start working on the teardown, clean, and lube. Still need to decide on tires and tubes as well.

Tx!

Yep, this one has a bunch of them and the Danish ID no. but no factory no. that I can see yet, some of the info seems to say the ID incorporates the S/N but I'm not there yet.

First year 1984 Alyeska with SunTour mechs. The geometry of this frame is very close to that of my 72 SuperCourse. Both are 23 1/2" frames.

I officially have a problem. Lol I haven't finished cleaning up the '84 Prestige yet but......An '85 Prestige popped up on Facebook a couple days ago. Chrome is a little rough but all original companies except pedals and saddle. All the components are in great condition. Paid $150.
