very likely, but you'd need to get the BB unit out to actually check the threads.
According to Sutherlands (maybe not 100% conclusive) a TA BB Italian should have "no rings" on either cup and the lockring should have diagonal line knurling...your lockring has cross-hatch knurling which Sutherlands indicates is French...however, we don't know the brand of BB or lockring, though that spindle HAS to be TA.

I see, this will get difficult... I don`t know if I have the right tools and knowledge to get the BB unit out.

My '72 Motobecane Grand Record.
Campy drop outs
Nervex lugs
Same sort of fork rake
French BB
The seat stay on my grand record looks remarkably close to your bike.
I see you have braze ons at the top tube. Mine doesn't, but maybe he added them.
what's the chainstay length and wheelbase on your bike?

Well, that TA crank is valuable so don't wade in unless you are confident. If it were my bike I'd want to clean and lubricate the BB and inspect the cups/spindle for wear, so I'd get it to a very qualified LBS (local bicycle shop) that has expertise with vintage bikes and let them handle it. They can confirm if it's Italian threading (which I'd say is about 90% certain).
The forkcrown is a Vagner (Wagner) piece, not much of a clue in that...the fact of this mix of Imperial 531 tubing, French frame bits and (Italian) threading sure does not point to very many Italian (or other) builders I have any knowledge of: this could be a very rare bird!

Well, certainly if the BB is Italian? Not sure how one could be certain otherwise?

Moto features are pretty well documented, especially for the USA models that Ben Lawee oversaw.
For one thing the few models from this approx. era that had long Campy dropouts would have used metric 531 tubing, and none that I've ever seen have a serial number stamped into the top seat lug as does this frame.
I don't think there were many/any Motos that used the Nervex Pro BB shell, regardless of this one's Italian threading, and most didn;t use the 'classic' Nervex Pro pattern headlugs, but rather that "Moto-only" variation clearly seen on yellowdog's GR: different rear socket details.
This one is doubtless something more exotic than a Motobecane.

Thanks Bibliobob. I will clean it as much as I can and post a few better pics today.
@unworthy1: you are probably right. I will take it to a good bike shop to have that done.
The guy runs the shop from 60`s on so I guess he has experience with these kind of bikes,
even if it`s probably some time ago since he last worked on an old bike like that.

I love it! Especially the headbadge, 'cause it's got my name on it :-) (no relation, though)

Seriously, that is a *very* cool bike. Thanks for sharing it!
