Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I’m looking forward to having a real mtb. It arrives in March. Today I had the bright idea of putting upright bars on my Trek 414, making it into more of a hybrid. It has two 32mm Gatorskins, and I don’t use it much on the road. It’s a bit of a tank, compared to my other road bikes.

I had one of those too, and the same thoughts surrounding it. Testing would have been more of a problem though, as we don’t have home tests, afaik.

The kittens like to sleep on the chair next to the hammock, where I like to lay my books in progress. And I like to keep my tumbler of instant coffee beneath said chair. One of my new library books spent a part of the day on the clothesline, drying out, but remaining badly stained.

Just learned my sister tested pos. for Covid today. After testing neg the prior 2 days. Poor kid. She came to Turkey day and passed out in a chair and didn't move for 4 hours. Then went home. Ah well hope no one else gets it.

Also, my 2nd bucklos pedal set arrived just now. 269 grams. And cheap! I'm in heaven. The set on the trainer has been fantastic thus far. Haven't given them a second thought since installing them . My D/a 7800 series pedals are heavier than that.

Left work to get the COVID booster and was back in like 25 minutes door to door. A couple miles away too. But I know the shortcuts to get there w only one stoplight, plus a bit of urban assault on mtb, riding through some industrial park rock gardens, paths etc. Sweet. I feel like one of those fixie bike messengers or something. Totally shredded that commute lol

The wings at $3 Cafe used to be pretty good too. Been a while since I've been down that way. Oooh, I see they have one in Buford now

But if you like enchiladas, nothing in the ATL gonna come close to the green chile enchiladas at Las Trancas.

I was on the verge of buying the RLT at the pre-Black Friday price. A BF discount made it an easy call for me.

Interesting. My wife heard from a former very close friend who has been out of touch for about that same length of time. A few friends have recently mentioned similar things happening with them. Hmmm...

This guy is in Australia who I found one way or other during my genealogical activities. It's been so long I'm going to have to go back and figure out how we're related again.

He sent an old picture, which is kind of cool.

Cyber monday is getting out of control. I just flew for 5 hours, when I turned my phone back on I received 41 emails. Other than RJ telling me to buy new wheels the rest were all ads.
