I love that fork.

If measured by the seat tube, it's a 60cm frame, but it has a short top tube for a 60cm frame. The frame is very similar to an Italian frame from the mid80s. I have very long legs/short torso & arms.

Thursday or Friday we will layup the CF on the joints, and put it into the oven.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks those frames are cool as hell.

I have the same bartape in the pink version, but this one is still fine and at $43 a pop, I'm not changing it until I have to. But yep, I agree...just don't want to go overboard. Maybe a pink crank bolt.

In other news, slowly getting my partner's Kona setup. (I'll be so happy when I can put a real set of pedals on there!)

I think it looks perfect as-is.

Pink bar tape, cages, and cable housing would be something nice to give a try though.

My '85 Specialized Allez

A good friend gave me his bike while he's off to live in New York City for the next few or several years. This appears to be a Specialized model produced about 1985. Apparently the bike was ridden only occasionally by the original owner and it sat inside his house when not on the road for the past three decades. My friend has put a few hundred miles on it over course of the last year.

While the bike could use some cleaning, everything seems to work well. Much of what's on the bike seems to be original. The brake hoods are new. I've added the pedals and clips. From an old catalog, I think the saddle and probably at least the rims were changed out at some point.

It's the bike model that was used in the American Flyers film. I may have to pick up a "Hell of the West" race jersey.

On order. I went, pretentiously, for the Leader jersey.
