Definitely an interesting conglomeration. DuraAce, Gran Compe, Record cranks, older high flange Campy hubs, Kalloy seatpost...then a quick release pinch bolt to boot!

Gotta be a missing digit from that Giant...

$50 doesn’t buy the RD.

Tall fillet brazed Schwinn Super Sport

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...4523485105022/

$100 It appears a bit "patina-ed" but solid. Leather saddle is possibly salvageable. Only the one photo in the listing, plus an incorrect serial number as a bonus!

I bought mine in basket-case, coated-in-filth-and-pet-hair condition for $35. This one in the same color scheme looks pretty good, and maybe even in my size. Someone has already replaced the brake lever hoods, too, which is a good thing. Mine is a keeper, rust, mismatched parts and all. Somebody ought to snag this one now.

It’s a cool bike for sure, but based on what I have read (a BF member has a thread about one) the stay clearance is limited to about a 30mm tire. So not quite the perfect all-rounder I would be going for. And that fork would bug me.

I really like the Simoncini. Cromor tubing it looks like. I can't tell what else is on the bike. Maybe Mavic SUP rims? Nothing special, I don't think, but would be a pretty cool bike to have available. Any help?

Yep, agreed, I get it. No carbon forks on C+V voluntarily for me either. I have them on a couple of newer bikes. Fuji's with aluminum frames and they definitely help with the buzz on those, one has a rear carbon fork also and those combined with a carbon SP make for a pretty good ride for what they are.

I have one C+V that came to me with a carbon fork as there was no fork for the frame only when it came to him so no choice for me as I wanted the frame and it came with a fantastic new paint job that the fork was part of. Traded a way too small actual 10th anniversary for this tribute version.

Cue the naysayer's.

This is really just a mock up and a poor angle so looks a bit odd.

Tx and I get the "tribute"/"fake" paradox and don't begrudge anyone for for where they land on it.

But this for me was too good to pass up, it is a Merckx frame that came from a forgotten stash somewhere albeit newer that came with no fork so this ones paint job only was worth the trade.

It was vetted by CyclesMakaron as well so I was good with it.

It looks fantastic in person and is a top notch paint job.

I probably should have tried to keep the flat crown fork from the small one but have one now that I may have chromed so it could be used on any Merckx that I happen upon.

Here's the small one.
