Warm weather isn't a totally good thing. I just killed a mosquito that landed on my knee. And that knee was exposed because it was in the upper 70's F today and I didn't need knee warmers for my training ride.

I posted up just for all y'all's benefit.

Over my lunch hour I got to catch up with my father in kansas and my best friend from high-school & college.
My father is in central kansas where the temp w/ windchill is a little below -30F
My friend J is in Dallas where the the city is apparently drowning in ice.

I figured they'd be home - there's not way to really get a hold of them usually, hearing from you guys made me think I actually could talk with them.

Just tried on my new drysuit. Emphasis on "tried". I almost got stuck. Seriously. I had the legs on, but I was kinda stuck with my arms in. I couldn't get my arms out.

It comes with instructions for cleaning and storage, but no instructions on how to put it on...

Did I mention that there's nothing quite like stripping glue off a tubular in a closed garage with the heater going full blast?

Didn't need it. It's not that it's tight to the skin, drysuits are actually pretty loose.

The problem was that once you get the feet in (which you have to do first because of the booties, you have to bend in a strange way to get your arms in, and then it's even harder to get your head even in the right place for the neck hole. I'm not much of a contortionist, so it was a bit tricky.

It's definitely watertight. Pretty incredible. You have to burp the suit by bending down and holding the neck flap open, otherwise you end up looking like a balloon.

I don't want to but it feels that way because there's slush everywhere and today we had all forms of precipitation except hail.

What type of seals? With latex seals you'll probably want to use unscented talc, you can order it through most pharmacies. Or you can use a combination of unscented dish soap and water in a spray bottle.
