Today I:
I just had lunch with an old friend that just got out of rehab. Dude looks/sounds better than I've seen him in years, and has actually had a job for six months. I'm shocked. Went to this little Korean diner around the corner. Last time I was there was a brunch date back in the winter. Still awesome. Now to listen to some Wu-Tang and read comics.
Edit: I'm thinking about trying to save for a certification at UBI or Barnett's. Or maybe a Carmichael training week... Hmm...

Today I got the package from home I was waiting for, so that I can sell stuff to support the bike habit.

Today, due to a stress riser in the fork, the stock fork went back onto the 930.

today i wanted to get in a ride after work but then remembered i have a super long shift tomorrow. I work for apple and its gonna be a crazy day actually crazy weekend.
I know the feeling. I worked at an Apple store the day the first iPhone launched. There was a line around the mall. 1 hour before closing, everyone had been served. Everyone left with an iPhone. I was amazed. A customer could have showed up at 8:30PM walked right to the counter and bought an iPhone, no line, no wait.

I'm very tempted to get an iphone 5 but I'm a bit torn with how apple was stingy with the new features and the similar resemblance with the 4(s). Not to mention all the manufacturing line leaks took away the fuzzy Christmas day like feeling from Apple release events.

i've had Macs since my first computer in '95, but went to an Apple store for the first time last year (bad hard drive). very much the forced joviality of a TGIF's coupled with koolaid drinking comet cult. all really decent people, but i imagine it must be like working at Disneyland: always looking over your shoulder in case you're caught not living up to the corporate image. felt bad for them. i now refer to it as the "church of the shiny wall".
today i shall attempt to shave even more time off my ride home. cannot get away from this place fast enough. i am constantly reminded that, although there are good people here, the primary purpose of the criminal justice system is to perpetuate itself. should have followed my first instinct and just gotten on the plane for that Thai Buddhist monastery that accepted me after college. darn meeting the perfect woman....

Got home last night and found a bat chillin' on my ceiling. Escorted him out using a garbage can.

took the dog for a walk along the wetlands trail. had to deal with a guy on a Fantom Cross Uno passing too close (less than 12") to peds w/o warning, in -super intense mode-, who managed to complete a 6mi loop in the time it took me to walk 4mi with the dog trying to mark everything. good thing i saw him load up his jersey pockets with powerbars.
next time will just clothesline.

also, discovered a preview for a movie that takes me back to Sunday afternoon kung-fu theater:
