today i touring biked to work and got off early for track racing.
still not placed into cat 5 though, one more beginner week

really funny thing is the track gave me a loaner front which i needed because my gatorskin is chunking...

i got done with all the racing and looked at my bike and realized they gave me a 650c and i raced it without even really thinking to check. my god, it was twitchy.

I gotta get me SSD in the ThinkPad, and max out the RAM.

Today I made it downtown on the brakeless SS. More downhill coming this way so I definitely had the flow.

Today I'm happy it's Friday and the weekend is shaping up to be pretty righteous bike weather, 81F/82F for the highs. And now here it is, your moment of Zen...

That road (Conzelman) is actually terrifying. -20% grade in places with tight turns. It's a lot of "ok this is going ok, look how beautifu... OH **** OH **** OH **** /panicbrakeskid" (https://app.strava.com/segments/956486)

Hawk Hill (you have to climb this to get to that road) is AWESOME though (https://app.strva.com/rides/8341048). Fantastic views in the evening/morning/whenever.

A must-ride if you find yourself in SF.

I ride my cinelli all over the city, you can do it. 49x18 gets me up just about anything (you can ride around most of the really bad hills).

Yesterday I got my ass kicked in Sprints at Masters Nationals. I rode an 11.5" flying 200M and only qualified 10th. I finished 10th overall.

I hit +1,850W and +42mph in my first sprint...and still lost by 1/2 a bike length.

Remember when you had your roadie, and I was trying to climb that first part of hawk hill with 48x16?

Felt bad man.

Chin up man. You went and competed and (presumably) gave it everything you had. No shame in that.
42+ mph on a bicycle is a huge win in my book. That must have felt awesome!

Holy **** O_O you're a beast - good riding! I feel good when I spike over 1000W. 1200W is like my max for < 2 seconds haha.

hi5

Today I saw this at work, looks pretty sweet!

The yellow thing is just an artifact, but the green things are germinated pollen grains expressing green fluorescent protein

Thanks, man. Yeah, I left it all on the track. My legs were burning for 15 minutes after each round of sprints. At one point I couldn't get off the bike because I couldn't stand up. So, I just pedaled the bike in circles for 5 minutes.

Thanks. Opponents say that, between the disc and the tires barely holding grip, it sounds like a freight train when I'm approaching from behind. I think the sound scares them into riding faster, kinda like that dog that chases you though the neighborhood, haha.

I can average 1,200W for 23 seconds. For 2 seconds it's 1,800W.

Winning isn't everything man, the numbers you put up are more than enough to be happy with.
