Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? It's a shame all the artsy stuff on the bars are going to be masked out through...

Thanks. Opponents say that, between the disc and the tires barely holding grip, it sounds like a freight train when I'm approaching from behind. I think the sound scares them into riding faster, kinda like that dog that chases you though the neighborhood, haha.

I can average 1,200W for 23 seconds. For 2 seconds it's 1,800W.
Disks sound terrifying.

Sorry you didn't place where you wanted, but holy **** you did well. I still haven't even been able to break into 12.xx Hahaha

I think one of my teammates won an event out there at Nationals. The points race iirc (i could be wrong) Jeromy Cottel ring a bell?

I want to see a video of you sprinters doing your thing. Must be awesome.

So much torque, the chassis twisted coming off the line.

I haven't kept up with the endurance races. I do my thing then leave. It's too hot to hang around and watch. The heat will wear me out as much as racing. Staying in the heat too long hinders recovery.

I guess that makes sense though, since you'd be more dehydrated sitting out in the sun.

Today I finally finished moving. Bittersweet, to say the very least. The new place is rad, don't get me wrong. It's just that I was at the old place for years. I had that apartment before I had my wife. It had memories of my my honeymoon, an ex-gf or two, friends that have passed away, my sister's (R.I.P.) loveseat and entertainment center... Time for a fresh start.

Hawk Hill (you have to climb this to get to that road) is AWESOME though (https://app.strva.com/rides/8341048). Fantastic views in the evening/morning/whenever.

A must-ride if you find yourself in SF.
I'm going to be finding myself in SF at the end of august, I hope I can borrow my buddies bike just for that.

Also, today I learned I'm going to be an uncle. woah.

I'm going to immature and go ahead and say that this looks like green sperm. But, actually, considering the fact that it's pollen, this sort of makes sense, in a super abstract way.

Congrats! I just found out a few days ago that my sister is pregnant for number 4. Super excited.

And today, I woke up and decided to just turn on the tv for the noise, since everyone else is gone. So glad I did, mens road race is on!

today ive been awake for half an hour and im already getting annoyed at the fact that i cant find a stream of the olympics that lets you watch unless you already have a tv subscription

if i had a tv subscription i would obviously be watching it on my tv...stupid nbc.
