A great way to learn would be to take the brake off. Terrible advice, but it would literally force you to learn. But with a Gator Hardshell on back, I'm with you in saying **** skidding.

And partially because you have no damn foot retention.

We never pay more than $35 to ship a frame via USPS Parcel Post w/ insurance in the US. I have a feeling that was the price for Priority Mail.

Yea I paid less than $30 with insurance last time I shipped a frame using Parcel Post. Priority can definitely get expensive.

I paid about $21 to ship a frame parcel post, but I don't think I insured it.

I still don't understand why you sold it. Mine is my fav now, best FG I've ever owned. I can't even imagine selling it.

You should have just made it a 'buy it now'. Better to have to list something a few times and get what you actually want for it than let it go for too little.

Also, listing and final value fees are lower for BIN than auction style listings. I had no trouble getting my BIN price when I sold my extra Leader 721tr frame. It only cost me 50 cents to list it at that price, so even if it didn't sell, that's all the money I'd lose.

Bikes: See my sig...

Today I got up pretty early and rode to the hospital with my wife in what was some pretty wonderful PNW weather so she could have her physio and had the physiotherapist coach me on how to help her with some exercises.

After lunch I am going to teach my brother in law how to assemble a bicycle... he crashed his Surly and wrote off the frame and the new frame is waiting in the garage to be built up... the parts from what was essentially a new LHT will swap straight across.

Today I decided I am sick of the subway and want to start commuting to work in the winter...

Lets see how long this lasts. My fixie is on the wall and the wheels need to be trued and my MTB has a bent rim from some idiot who hit me.

Starting the checklist...

A kid I talked to today in Cambridge asked me what it was like in America with people walking around with guns everywhere. Coupled with the fact that Sulfrages food court had an "American Food" section which was full of cake mixes and frosting, I'm pretty proud of how the rest of the world sees us.

so the Gov. merged Corrections and Parole (me). today i had a meeting with my new bosses that don't know what i do, have no idea how to fit me into their workforce, told me that my job would likely be redefined/renamed and that all future advancement may now be unavailable for my title. WHEEEE!

but, i have the week between the holidays off w/ my wife, two bike projects to work on and a steady paycheck. bring it on!

Yeah I should've kept it or just left the 'buy it now' option, I was too optimistic. I loved that frame, but was really over having a white one and needed the space/money. lesson learned

If it were my house, I would have an entire wall dedicated to all bike related (helmet storage, parts bin, tools) but alas... this is but a rented loft. So up the bikes go!
