I am setting up as a commuter/townie.
Adding:
flat bar, cross top levers & grips.
wald front basket
freewheel 19T
new chain

I need a new chain and a half link. the track bolts are at the limit of the rear and it looks stupid and dangerous. Due to the size of the tires I have to back the wheels out a bit and I need a half link to make it work properly.

How do you like the WT? I'm considering this for my first fixed gear.

I think it is an excellent choice for a first fixed gear bike. Aside from the pedals and saddle there isn't really anything I would say needs changing on the bike from stock.

I made it a bike for me to lock up and cruise around when I'm not on my road bike.

Got a chance to give it a quick spin around before the blizzard, I feel like I should have bought a Parallax a long time ago.

How long are typical tour rides for you? Isn't it a bit rough ss for long distance? Nice bike tho, the crank is incredible.

Range between 35-100 miles per day. Been riding single speed too long now, that I probably don't know what it is like otherwise :) But I love it.

Do you have issues with false neutrals with that hub? My friend has one, and we struggle to keep it from falling into neutral when shifting. Which is great when you get it out of neutral and the pedals start flying again....

nope never any problems with that, my advice comes from a series of unfortunate events which led to me asploding the hub internals.

SA was nice enough to send me an entire internal cartridge and shifter for free. he said that some of the older shifters werent indexed 100% correct which could cause shfiting problems, though i never had a problem with it

Nice blog. The stem cap thermometer is cool.
At either end, bikes are encouraged to activate a signal that includes 1-hour of a flashing light on a “bikes on roadway” sign.
I wish they had that on some roads near me.

Civia Emerson. Don't know if they still make them. A basic compact drop bar, but one of the few in silver.

I've been looking for a silver compact drop bar with 25.4 clamp for a long time
