Kona did themselves a disservice by not offering that frame built up as a single speed. So right.

Mumonkan 01-28-16 11:46 AM

honzo is even more official now as an SS. good decision!

Who doesn't want a 29" BMX with a long ass suspension fork?

Mumonkan 01-28-16 11:59 AM

120 stock. Apparently not hard to up to 140, which would also raise up the fairly low bottom bracket. That might happen in the future.

Hoping to rip some trails this weekend, if the weather holds up.

Favorite picture of the bike. Needs new tires and I want a matching 3T seatpost and riser bars eventually.

hell yeah! get as much suspension as you can get away with, especially if you like going fast and downhill

it could be as easy as swapping the air shaft if you dont wanna buy a whole new fork, and itl probably slacken the HA by about a degree too

how high is the bb from the ground?

I haven't used it yet. I've been waiting for a break from the wind/rain (I wound up doing a short hop on my Raleigh USA Olympian). Sometime soon I'll shoehorn it into my car, and take it to the park so I can get used to clipping into the thing (I have no desire to try it on the 20% decline from my house to the main drag).

Hella nice. Really digging the coordination between the bar tape and accents on the frame.

Thanks! About right as you were posting this I was swapping it to all-black risers though lol. I will miss the color coordination but its my beater so the goal is fun and risers are fun as hell. Also did a brake delete until I can get a lever that fits the narrow portion of the bars.

/Bluegrips :P Still slick though, 10/10 would definitely ride.

Kind of considering risers for commuting but really love how i can sprint on the bullhorns.

Sorry, the pictures are a little off because they are coming from my iPad. Just picked up a kilo after my clockwork was stolen. The only things I have changed are the cog, the bars, and the pedals. The saddle is soon to be next! I can see why there are a lot of positive things to say about this bike.

Your straps are installed upside-down.

The strap ends should be pulled down to adjust, not up.

hardboiled718 02-03-16 06:27 PM

yeah those straps are installed upside down

but in the current set up he would pull down if he wanted to adjust the strap. you're supposed to pull up to adjust and the slack should be pointed down when tucked into the buckle. I know that sounds nitpicky, guess i'm a little bored

also whats with the vertical pics :twitchy:

Scrodzilla 02-03-16 07:03 PM

That's what I meant. It's still Monday, right?

Ha, there are still geared -> fixed converts. I thought the migration was the other way around these days ;)

Real nice. Where did you find that Shimano chain? I've been keeping an eye for one but can't seem to find them anywhere.

YK_ 02-07-16 01:39 PM

God dammit I want a Dosnoventa so badly.
