I think I've posted this before, but here's a brand-new, current-as-of-last-night pic of my ride:

2016 Kilo TT Pro, pretty stock except for saddle (Specialized Riva), stem (Kalloy UNO 100mm), bars (Bontrager Sport 46cm), chainring (46t IRO), cog (17t Surly), lockring (All-City), and pedals (Fyxation Gates with Pure Fix Pro straps).

Different world.
I run clipless (Look Keo Classics) on my geared bike, I keep my fixed bike... un-clipless, I guess? Anyway, I run some form of straps on my fixed bike so that I don't have to put on my funny shoes. I was running Power Grips Deluxe pedals and straps, which I've used for years and really liked because it kept my foot pretty retained. I mean, there was room to move around, but they were ok.
These - the Fyxation platforms and the big velcro straps - actually feel better to me than do the Power Grips. I don't know if it's the pedal or the strap, but I feel much more... retained on these than on the Power Grips.
But... neither are as good as clipless, if you're looking for a solid attachment of foot to pedal.

That's like the opposite of my Kilo: I have a 44cm frame, I think the smallest that was available at the time. I gotta get some updated pics now that I think of it...

Historically more prone to creaking, sometimes more of a pain to service. Obviously not all PF BB's are terrible, but as trouble-free as most threaded BB's are, I'd rather not have to go there.

PF is way cheaper than having to machine threads so why not go cheaper if your name is Trek? Your name already exists and people already know it so why bother with quality anymore. Just like Schwinn you can ride the name to the bottom.

There are screw-together bottom brackets for press fit frames which eliminate all the issues. These are not adapters but actual bottom bracket that don't need to be pressed.
I used an Enduro TorqTite. Insert it into the bottom bracket shell by hand and screw it together. Uses an 8 or 16 notch Shimano bottom bracket tool for tightening and done. It is slightly more difficult than installing a cap onto a mayonnaise jar.

There is also Praxis which is the same idea but a little different execution. There are others.
I'll never own a Trek or Bontrager product but I do hope @mdilthey enjoys his bike. It looks like it is a blast to ride.
What bag is that?

My local shop is a Trek dealer and I know them well enough that they've steered me away from other in-house stuff if it's not up to the rigors of my type of riding/use frequency. I trust them. Two of the mechanics ride Crocketts so I got to look at them and test them a lot before I pulled the trigger.
On the great hierarchy of big bike brands, I don't think Trek is too bad and my shop doesn't seem to mind using them at all.
The bottom bracket I went with is a threaded-in style like the one mentioned from Wheels Mfg. and it does indeed eliminate all potential creak by threading and pressing directly into the frame. As a bonus, it's a standard GXP BB so I can keep using my old crank. I was hesitant at first, but I did have a press-fit bike once before and I used the Praxis Works BB and it worked great, so I had some idea that this'd be fine too. And it is!
Truth be told, I mostly settled on this frame because there wasn't anything I really liked in steel that could be run singlespeed. I had to step outside my comfort zone.
I'm having a blast on this bike. Thru-axle, super wide tire clearance, very nice ride... it's great.
The bag is from Oveja Negra.

I prefer threaded BB's but they don't seem to make them for race bikes any more. All my bikes have threaded BB's but my two road bikes. Plus I ride Shimano cranks so they get adapted down to 24 mm anyway,
