Hmm.. There is only one page apparently, and none in the color scheme like i had originally mentioned.. What would you offer for this frame?

Anyone heard of "Peloton" bike frames? There is one on CL here and I must say.. It looks sweet. NJS frame apparently but I can't find any info on this color scheme.. Thoughts? I am a sucker for pink bikes. What price would you guys pay for this bike?

Dented, paint far from pristine, random guy on CL rather than from a reputable used frame dealer ... I'd offer around $300, but I'd be willing to go up a bit depending on how much I wanted it. The exterior of the headset looks like it's in good shape, so it seems like you'd be getting a serviceable headset/BB in the deal.

My thinking is that there's no way he'll part with it for less than around $300 (he's clearly not a n00b), but if you have to pay much more than that then you may as well hold out for a nicer frame.
By the way, I recommend checking out the TT length first. A lot of NJS bikes are a lot longer than they are tall, and from the pic it looks like that might be the case with this one too. So that 56cm sizing might end up being pretty deceptive.
Anyway, if it fits, I say give it a shot--looks like a really fun project!

I guess he'll just be holding onto it then. That's so totally out of touch with the market right now. Check out this beautiful frame, which is far nicer and in far better condition than that Peloton, but has gone unsold for ages (it's listed at $800 but I think he's willing to take an offer of about $700):

Or this one, which I know has been on the market for quite a while because I was trying to convince my friend to buy it last year (listed at $500, but they almost always offer an extra 10-20% discount):

Heck, Samson frames with decent paint start around $500, and I've seen decent Nagasawas for as low as $600. The Peloton under discussion looks cool, but it's strictly beater grade--there's no way it deserves to go for $700, especially from a no-name seller.
That CL guy either doesn't know what he's doing, doesn't really want to sell, or is looking for a sucker.

What mm tire do you guys use for a dirt road/gravel? I have a pair of 700x38 in my room and I'm thinking that's right in the range you want.

Bikes with brakes can do skids but a fixie bike without brakes is needed to make the skids sick.

Right? I was very close to pulling the trigger last year, but I finally found the maturity to admit that I absolutely don't need another NJS bike, especially not one that nice when a lot of my riding involves locking up. Still have a huge crush on it though.

Or do I have it wrong and it's a more like a fashion statement, the appearance while skidding rather than the skid itself?

Bikes: All have flats.
If riding on drops, do you prefer hoods on your bike? If not, what kind of hand positions would you use on drops?
I used to be a bullhorn guy, and been riding on drops for some months. I like hunkering down, but I find it uncomfortable when putting my hands where the hoods would be.
I was always used to seeing bikes with no hoods, and the in-line brake handle for the front, but now I'm wondering if that makes sense. I know it's been the norm forever but..

Thinking about getting a new set of wheels for this Surly SS gravel dealio bike i'm ever so slowly building up.. Thoughts on the TB14's w/32 hole be durable enough for gravel / offroad use or am I better off with the Archetypes?

Just so you know his hustle is to buy cheap in bulk from japan via a buyer at keirin swaps and flipping them here.
His mark-up is insane.

I don't know about strength differences, but IMO the TB14s have kind of a C&V road bike look. I'm no expert on the gravel scene, but wouldn't they look out of place there?
