Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I put a banana in my spokes once and kept it there for several days. I was going to eat it when I got hungry, but somehow I never got hungry enough...

On a related note, i'll be moving a little closer to you come august, when i move to dayton. we should ride. You will crush me.

Yeah...ya' see the funny thing about heartbreak is that it's driven me to drink too much. I need to stop that and get my gut in check. FWIW I'm not all that strong of a rider...but I will roll up to Dayton. I think it's only like 45 min to an hour away. Just promise to keep company with lots of young ladies that are attracted to pudgy, beat-down, older chemists that currently lack any shred of self confidence. Women are EVIL!!!

It's ok, just because she dumped you 3 years ago doesn't mean you can't cry into a microphone (or while riding) about it.

hmm i am a day late on this thread but...
last summer when the rnc was coming to nyc and critcal mass was being overrun by cops with paddywagons and plastic handcuffs, i took guadalupe prayer cards and wrote "declaration of independence" with a little drawing of my fix on the back...i gave them to bike friends and cutebikes/bikers who looked in need of a lil DIY gift...i wasnt trying to look like i do alleycats...i do my own thing..but i really wish we could be psyched that people are creating art and riding bikes instead of judging each other...

I like spoke cards, have a few 3 I think, 2 are from alley cats and 1 from my club www.sprintclubrva.org
I did one alley cat on a track bike and the other one on a geared road bike that I set up for that purpose.
It doesn't matter to me either way. Oh year, my spoke cards are in my tool box.
