i'm all about fast sandwiches since i don't have time to cook, or the patience really ... lately i've been eating alot of openfaced, spinach, fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil and lawrys (seasoning salt) on a bagel or whatever sort of bready thing i have. sometimes with avocado too. yum.

I have four (count 'em, four!) favorite sandwiches.
- Falafel. While not technically a sandwich, the judges are allowing. While there are many Falafels, the one I'm specifically referring to is from the Moishe's Chicken truck on the MIT campus. Moishe is a cantankerous dude, but he's my pal and makes a wicked tasty wrap. This is my falafel, there are many like it, but this one is mine.
- Banh mi. Also something I routinely devoured while working at MIT, this franco-vietnamese sandwich is tres scrumptious.
- Steak bomb or a steak, onion, and pepper with the works. Take it home and juice it up with Tabasco sauce. Yeah, man.
- Big Mac. No, really.

We've got some fine ones in the Chi as well. My favorite is at Tank Noodle on Argyle.
Also, has anyone made a case for pepper & egg sandwiches? Done right, they can really hit the spot.

Peanut butter
Vidalia onion
Roasted sunflower kernels
Crisp bacon (optional, but highly recommended)
Top with a lettuce leaf and a dollop of mayo.
Gooey, bland Wonder bread works with this, but so does very fresh French or Italian white bread.
This sounds revolting, but it's astonishingly good.

I like the fat ***** w/ hot sauce, its a new brunswick thing.
Its an 8" hoagie roll with chicken fingers, mozarella sticks, cheesesteak, lettuce, tomato, onions, and a full serving of french fries stuffed in there. Along w/ salt, pepper, ketchup and hot sauce.
