It is. Thats the same crank/ring as the fuji track. In other words changing from the stock 48 will at least slightly effect the chainline.

Seems that the bottom bracket is quite low like a road bike ... or I'm wrong

From the C'dale website the geo is the same of their road bikes with a BB drop of 7.2 cm, quite high for a fixed gear for street use

The CAPO comes with a flip-flop hub. Cannondale outfits the freewheel side with the cog. If you want to use the fixed gear side you will have to buy the cog and lock-ring separately.

I'm not sure what your saying here. Forgive my ignorance if its obvious. But, if you say the geometry is the same as their road bikes, then why wouldn't the CAPO be suitable for the road? I believe Cannondale compares the track frame of the Capo to the road frame of the Six13 do they not?

a low bottom bracket means a very high risk of pedal strike

the high bb was really meant for the steep embankment of velodrome tracks, the low bb featured on the capo, and langster is designed for street use in mind, for it yields a more comfortable road biased geometry more like a geared road bike.

Ahh, I see your point / concern but it shouldn't be a problem as I have never had a problem with pedal strike on my roadie with similar geometry.

I would love to but truth be told, I don't know much about SS/FG components. This is my first SS/FG bike. I haven't been able to ride it yet either. I just picked it up the other day and its been pouring rain ever since.

The difference is you can lift the inside pedal on a road bike, but can't on a fixed... if you're running it singlespeed only (not fixed) then it's a non-issue.

The one I rode at the bike shop was dual freewheel hub.

It's light, and seemed to jump pretty good when I hammered (even on platform pedals.)

If it were available as a frameset, I'd probably dump my Mark V for it.

Freewheel and rear brake is much better for wheelies...but fixed is pretty good.

By hand...slightly lighter than a Langster. I just got mine and I'm super stoked. Pretty much going to take over the world now.

I looked at both the langster and capo today, and the capo felt a bit heavier. Both of them felt too heavy for aluminum. But thats just me. After riding a crazy stiff aluminum mountain bike, i can't imagine going back after riding steel. I also looked at a cdale la grange. Holy crap, that thing is super light. and very drool worthy. it was even my size.

the capo is the exact same major taylor track frame that cannondale has sold for years. the complete bike isn't bad, but the cranks need an instant upgrade. the chainrings are junk, and rather elipitical. the reason that so many people are confused about wether it is fixed/free or free/free is because the guys putting the bikes together have been installing the freewheel on the wrong side. it is definitely a fixed/free rear wheel (formula hubs). overall, it is a much better bike that the langster, and the 07 langster is ugly. they changed out a few things, but they downgraded the gearing to 42X16 and put a fugly aluminium fork on it. they still haven't fixed the biggest problem with that bike, those crappy hubs.

I couldn't agree more. The parts they use on the bike are junk in my opinion. And I knew that when i purchased the bike. All I really wanted was the frame. Maybe they will just sell the frame in time. After all, it is an '07 early release.

Exactly what I have been doing. The seat is horrible and pedals are a must. The cranks are crap and for me, the bars are too skinny. I'm used to having a fat CF bar in my hands from my roadie. I have already outfitted the capo with some SL eggbeaters and a specialized avatar saddle. I'm also looking at installing a sugino 75 or if i really want to piss my money away some DA track cranks & BB.
