That's by far my favorite

ms.gio 02-02-07 02:46 PM

I haven't picked up a paint brush in while and I used to be really into painting on canvas. For some reason, I stopped. After seeing these pieces I want to paint again. Thanks for inspiring me guys.

Woah, what model? I've been wanting one for years and I finally found a used one at a thrift store. Sadly, no manual...

Does anyone have a program they would recomend to turn EPS files into a useable font?

self portrait drypoint engraving. thats just the plate inked up right before i printed it. i dont have a press in my apartment so the prints came out like crap, but the plate is good.

popluhv - Fontlab is great and pretty easy to use. I'm sure you can 'find' it somwhere.

ha, i guess. i took an actual printmaking class for two years so i definently did a lot of other mediums(etching, monoprints, etc). i can see how, they are super easy and cheaper than etching for sure. i prefer etching honestly, a lot more manipulation and such.

and chombo, good stuff right there. a fine job, sir.

ugh, i hate running prints without a real press. i even tried running a print over with car to get good pressure but it didn't work(i'm assuming the tire is too squishy to make enough pressure).

haha, one time i saw people doing huge format prints on plywood and using a small steamroller as the press. pretty cool. but yeah. last time im printing a drypoint by hand.

onetwentyeight 02-15-07 08:02 PM

printing dry point by hand is pretty much an exercise in frustration. doing any form of intaglio/etching without a proper press is futile. And it kills me inside

I have a BFA in printmaking and no access to proper facilities for anything anymore and it KILLS me.

onetwentyeight 02-15-07 08:05 PM

this is the last thing from my sketchbook i have scanned. its a little old, but... yea.

yes im a little insane. i have a *lot* of these type of drawings.

Depowsepow 02-15-07 08:10 PM

i saw your screen prints on your website and theyre really sick. i like them alot. printmaking/ photo major here.

onetwentyeight 02-15-07 08:11 PM

thanks. i actually started as a photo major before i decided i missed drawing.

vpiuva 02-15-07 08:29 PM

I have no talent save shooting a few bike frames - but here's my daughter with her painting hanging in the museum's young artists exhibition here. Wish I had a shot of her Bob Dylan painting to post.

Kaibot 02-15-07 09:03 PM

that sounds familar. painting just doesn't do it for me like cutting rubylith does.
sewing is getting there though.

(no mouth yet)

Terror_in_pink 02-16-07 02:21 AM

i don't have patience for rubylith unless it's a huge chunk or I drank a pot of coffee.

onetwentyeight 02-16-07 03:13 AM

haha. i love rubylith. i find carving woodblocks to be even more fun, tho... id rather shoot myself in the face than have to paint with oils again. each their own :)

br995 02-16-07 08:55 AM

Kaibot - The colors in your photos are awesome.

This reminds me of the work of a young lady I went to school with.

onetwentyeight 02-16-07 03:45 PM
