Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

i dont have any recent art but maybe i'll post some old photos. one of my goals for the summer is to get back into wasting film.

i had a "kill the artists" stencil campaign back in college in louisiana, stemming from the idea that you had to be trained to be "an artist" and how annoyed i was with all my artschool or art major friends acting like anything produced by non-art students wasn't really art or was less so than theirs. i also accompanied the stencils with a wheatpasted manifesto.

Yea you have the name right. I think its 5 bucks. Still, hauling around my screen (which is about 3' x 4') is not my kind of fun

Not necessarily works in progress...

But they will technically be a new form of art when finished... The paper is yellowing a little, it's probably time to get them done!

My roommate and I got a case of Mickey's Ice, got piss drunk and spray painted these huge pieces of cardboard he brought back from work (we need stuff to hang around the apartment). I suck at doing pieces, but oh well.

i make tons of different stuff. i'm working on a couple of conceptual picture dictionaries right now; some new carpets; bed-sheets of all of the different posters i did for The Brown Bunny; a crazy, convoluted fashion/street-art/publishing product; a bunch of films; some noise; a new homemade synth; textile stuff for a snowboard company; some new color-filter steganographic super-graphics for an installation and some other stuff.

5-channel video installation/noise project/interactive sculpture with a custom-built mixer that lets someone in the gallery do discreet mixes of the independent audio chans from the vids i made. there's a cassette recorder built into the console with which they could make noise mixes by purchasing blank tapes that i had painted. the thing is loud as hell and the way that i made the films allowed for the audio to be mixed in some pretty fun ways.
