Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

a project not unlike ya tu sabes' (which is excellent, by the way), although very much more in its infancy:

free stuff

i'm attracted to the structure here: we have two collections of objects, which are random and unique (asserted but not proven), that are mapped to each other uniquely as well. one collection is, of course, the various pieces of crap everyone is trying to get rid of. the other collection is the hand-lettered signs saying "free". the signs are perhaps less random, in that they all sat the same thing. they do, however, make use of arbitrary materials, different pens and kinds of paper, or cardboard, and so on. anyway, it is an ongoing thing that i've wanted to do for a long time, since way before digital cameras and the internet and all that.

what might be cool is to get photos of free stuff from other people too. hint hint.

Here's some silkscreened covers we did for my bands 7" (the art itself is not done by me, but the screens/screening was).

There are 3 different artworks for this 7". We also screened the last one ourselves. The first one was screened by it's artist.

Where did you end up getting it done, price and turn around time? Thanks, if you can, post a picture of the back, the sketches looked psychedelic as hell

Fun thread. We actually have alot of writers here. I am a screenwriter that contributes to local magazines and papers aswell. Not sure if I would consider my work art. You have to make a conscience choice of wether to be artistic or capitalist in writing. I chose the less romantic route.

I wish I had some artistic skill. Anyone want to draw me a tattoo? I'm looking for something nautical mixed with biking.

no, it's my friends dad who is MUCH older. I'm trading him that painting for a custom track frame.

except that it's taking me triple the time to finish the painting than it is for homeboy to build the frame. I didn't think it would take me this long.
