do you only ride this on the velodrome?

it's got risers on it, what do you think

nice! jim-bob, did you pick these up at the shop, or did you do mail order? i inquired about ordering stuff but they never got back to me. maybe they're not bothering with online sales for the moment.

call jitensha up, I had no problem with a phone order, and I just had them do it cuz it was cheaper to have them ship stuff to me than take the bart there and back, heh.

I only ride it when I've been smoking blunts rolled with 100 dollar bills, if thats what you're implying.

I picked 'em up at the shop. I believe he's closed through the middle of april or so, which may account for the delay.

Riser bars are like fat chicks...

NO bull horns are like fat chicks........ work well, fun to climb ,comfortable, but ugly as hell and hard to get your legs around


not too say all fat chicks are ugly just saying risers are better looking....

i know it's better for traffic and aesthetics, but do any of you find that chopping the risers to be that narrow is uncomfortable?
i don't know if you saw how wide my bars are in my previous post, and i don't necessarily love how they look, but i'm afraid that if cut them then i'll regret it since it would seem uncomfortable going up hills and sprinting and such. i mean, for looks i would prefer to cut them narrower (yes, i do care what my bike looks like, sorry), but it doesn't seem too practical.

p.s. i know i said that having my bike look cool wasn't too big of an issue for me, but i lied. so what. but please don't suggest i remove the brake or water bottle cage. i've ridden with and without both, and i decided i like them. i'm only asking about cutting the bars, and if you think it's uncomfortable/impractical (or if that's just my imagination).

sucks for climbing. I have mine cut to 40cm but man I can throw my leg over with ease and they look cool......... but I'm not sure if wider is going to make it that much easier to climb I alway wish I had bar ends or bull horns for climbing.....form ,not function....thats my motto!

thanks sniks... yeah, bullhorns (or regular road bars, gasp!) are much better for climbing. i think the wider bars i have might be somewhat more comfy than the narrower ones, but it probably doesn't make that much of a difference.
i don't even know why i'm posting about this. i know i'm just going to go out and cut them anyway. i'm always changing **** up on my bike, even when it's fine or perfect as is. and i always obsess about it before and after. i swear sometimes i'm like my wife when she can't decide what outfit to put on.

I like risers. Climbing seemed rough at first, but when you get used to it it's like a rad bicep workout and you can flex and look totally hard going uphill. I tried putting my bulls back on and hated it.

for a second there i thought you said "putting my balls back on". i laughed but then realized i had no reason to laugh.

i just spraypainted my risers with 24K gold spray paint from dollar general. I'd take pictures but they can come later once i've spray painted all my other cheap ugly parts too.
