rookie question. I just put some risers on. Not sure what the rule of thumb is for the stem height adjustment. Or is it just personal preference? I see every on this forum has their stem all the way down?

it just so happens that mine feel perfect where they are. usually on my other bike the stem is a lil higher. but yea do what feels right.

A few crappy office shots of the risers on my new ride. They are 1.5 inchers OS in a Thomson X2. Stiff and light.....

Thanks man!
They feel great....
I was pricing risers and the OS sizes are the same price as the regs.
Plus I had a big crush on the X2 stems.

Very soon...
I will put some photos up here and in the Pics thread. I will get some good photos (in her full black and celeste glory) on Friday when it is not raining like crazy.

Nice....did you cut down the bars? How many centimeters wide are they? My flat bars are 48cm...just wondering how narrow you can get risers without having the grips on the riser bend.

They are right at about 44 cm, they come stock as airplane wings at 68.5cm. I took a good bit off with a tubing cutter. They are not expensive bars and very light, stiff, and burly.

SeanBonham 06-29-07 09:41 AM

that bike is dope!
what size is it?
you should take those hideous velocity stickers off....

cygnusx1 06-29-07 09:53 AM

It's 58cm. A little bigger than I wanted, but it works. Yes, I will take the stickers off.

Hello
This in my old MTB converted to fixed gear with 700c wheels and FSA riser bars cut to 50 cm (that's 20 inches)

Risers are awful.

DannyRocks 07-06-07 06:34 AM

I'm sorry, you want the Riser Hate Club thread.
Honest mistake, I'm sure.
