How in the hell is beer more healthier than gatorade??? I dont drink gratorade all that often, only in extreneous aerobic activities usually after the workout to replenish hydration & energy that I have lost. I only said gatorade as a example because I know many of you ride there Track Bikes for long distances on the road. But anyways, In the formula of gatorade, theres certain amount of carbohydrates and formulated electrolytes for the replenishment of carbohydrates (glucose) and electrolytes (sodium). And so what is in beer?? Ok, if you watch sports, say the NBA, do you see the players sitting on the bench? what are they drinking. its not beer.

have we not been told it is a good thing to save water. I'd think drinking in the shower might keep you there awhile. In fact you might forget to get out. I usually have my brew before I shower.

Well beer contains B vitamins that can help protect against heart disease (B6 rises by 30% in your blood when drinking beer apparently). I've read people who drink 1 or 2 pints of beer per day have been found to have 30-40% *less* risk of heart disease than people who don't. It's made with cereal grains and yeast... which are good. It raises HDL in the blood to help reduce the risk of blood clots. It's good for you and your cycling lifestyle!

Meanwhile, Gatorade has been found to be more harmful to your teeth than soda, energy drinks, or fruit juice. So there you go.. beer is a delicious, healthy food that helps you pedal your bike faster and with a stronger heart and Gatorade makes you look like a one-toothed hillbilly from a Bugs Bunny cartoon.

Exactly. Beer, especially of a dark variety, has been found to, in addition to what was mentioned above, have all the antioxidant properties that are held in high regard in red wine. There are plenty of carbohydrates in beer if that's your gatorade argument. Gatorade is also very high in sodium, while beer is not.

probably 80-85% of what I drink is made up for Water, Beer, and Whiskey, in that order. The rest comes through tea and fruit juice(which I'll admit is high in sugars) in most cases. Do you think pro athletes want the alcohol affecting their game? Maybe that's why they don't do it, genius.

I'll take water over gatorade any day if I'm merely trying to hydrate.

I will say that Biking is more fun after a few drinks. I'm not training for track races here. I bike because it's fun and it's good, healthy, "green" transportation.

Not to sure about this, I think it is more likely that the people that don't drink at all are likely to be more stressed out than beer drinking fixed gear hipsters, that's why they get heart disease.

But anyway, I think that is getting a bit off topic - are you really saying that the reason you drink beer in the shower whilst receiving a blow job is to reduce your risk of heart attack?

P.S. What on earth have I created with this thread? I just wanted to see if I was the only one.

You should be pouring your beers anyways to let 'em breath. And with a beer stein you can keep the weather out. Great for bike painting, wood shops, hail etc.
