or is the Fuji Track worth the extra 125(Cdn), i had to say, id like the look of the KHS better, KHS kicks IMO,

Im in the same situation. Im torn between the Flite and Pista. Only about $50 difference. Can someone please make up my mind. Im almost tempted to get the KHS because nobody here has them. But the pista is a classic and you can't really go wrong with it. I like the looks of the Flat gray on the flite though. Help me decide by tomorrow. Im so anxious to get one but am losing sleep over the two.

Bikes: , Jury Bike, Moto Outcast 29, Spicer standard track frame and spicer custom steel sprint frame.
dide you happen to do a search because I have had three of these and have reviewed them in great detail about 8 times on this forum so here is the shovel dig and you will find tons of info on this bike
also look at the budget fg thread I think the last review I did is in there

flite has the sexiest fork imo.
flite also has the lowest bb and tallest seat tube, resulting in the highest stand over.
get the bike that fit's you best. flite seems to be good for long legs, short torso.
fuji sizes pretty square, if not slightly long on the top (mine is 53 or 54st with a 55tt)
pista is the only one out of the option with true track geo

I like my flite, but as baxtefer said, the stock wheels suck ass and most of the moving components suck. I love the frame to pieces though. Rack and fenders what?

i own both. the pista dropouts are so thin i'm scared it will wear down to nothing if i keep flip/flopping my rear hub.

i'm so glad i found this thread. i'm new to fixed gears and trying to decide between the pista and the flite. i'm leaning towards the flight b/c my lbs said that it's geometry is more road than track. can anyone confirm this? thanks!

The KHS Flite 100 has full on track geometry, same as the pista. Both are good entry level track bikes, but the KHS is nice on the road because of rack and fender bosses. If you want a 'street track', theres tons available, but maybe not from your LBS. Surly steamroller, IRO angus/mark v, soma rush, kona paddy wagon and a host of others make basically road frames designed to take fixed wheels. Maybe you should ask about some of those. Riding track geometry on the street is fun though, and if you want to hit the track you're set.

the KHS is quite track-y, but i'd say the pista is a bit trackier.
the KHS's bottom bracket is a bit lower and depending on your size, it has slightly slacker angles. But it's far from road-like. But the wheelbase is still short, the headtube is still steep and the fork has 28mm rake.
I definetly notice the difference going from my commuter to my cannondale to the KHS. The KHS is more nimble, a bit easier to throw around, but the 28mm fork keeps things stable. BUT, the Cannondale is definetly more comfortable and more stable.
if you're looking for something more road-like then check out an IRO, or the Bianchi Fremont, or a Lemond Fillmore or a Giant Bowery, or the Cannondale Capo or the Raleigh rush hour, or a Redline 925.......
you have many options.

Go for the 2007. It looks cooler, has a threadless fork, and the truvativ crankset that came on my 2006 flite was pooey, so the new sugino cranks on the 2007 can't be any worse. The saddle also looks better on the 2007.
Then again, if you want to throw on some blinged out threaded nitto stem/bars and already have other decent components to swap out, go for the 2005.

go for the 2007.
Aesthetically the 2007 is nicer. it's not obnoxious yellow with giant contrasting decals. The placement of the rack bosses (directly into the seatstays) is cleaner looking.
Functionally, I prefer the threadless setup. The stock threaded headset on the 2005 is pure crap. The cranks look to be the same sugino RDs that are found on lots of other bikes. Probably on par with the Touros, but square taper if that's what you like. The 2007 also looks like it has a nicer saddle and seatpost. The 2005 post is a pig and the saddle is awful.
The wheels are awful regardless of whichever one you choose. I'd definetly redirect some of your carbon-bling money into a decent set of wheels. You've been warned.
Can you tell that the only stock parts left on my KHS are the frame and fork and seatpost binder bolt?
