i feel much more safe riding around downtown with traffic when i'm in a more upright position using riser bars. drops make me feel like i can't see as well to negotiate with traffic. it's not really a matter of looking cooler, it's matter of feeling safe for me.

the old clown jammer, complete with risers and deep drop stem. this bike no longer exists as such, but it was rad city.

Um.. does anyone realize that drops and flats/risers put your hands in completely different positions, regardless of what height they're set?

thanks to this thread, i put risers on my conversion bike today (and love it). the ride feels perfect for the first time ever. i wonder why i resisted so long.

bullhorns beat out risers for everything except wheelies and hipster tricks! put some nitto bulls on that nagasawa, it'll be worth it!
