Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: iro mark v for street, sh itamori peloton for track

when posting photos of mad max bikes, i find its handy to consider the following criteria:

will this bike survive the apocalypse?
DID this bike survive the apocalypse?
has this bike been in more bar brawls than i have?
if it gets into a wreck with a honda, is the honda gonna wind up totally ****ed?
and finally;
does it get bonus points for being an australian frame?

*cough*show 'em how its done andy white *cough*

It also has to possess some or all of the following accutriments:

1. Studded leather seat

2. razor wire between the handlebars

3. sharp spikes protuding from every conceivable orafice

4. studded tires

5. a handebar rack for explosive arrows

6. a bananna seat so as to provide room for the unlucky token passenger who must be killed when making your first pass at anything

My swing bike looks a bit like that but mine doesn't have streamers and a banana seat. The gear ratio on mine makes it somewhat more suitable for actually, you know, riding places.

Someone needs to put a chainsaw chain on their bike. On a fixed gear it'll just cut through your pants or shoelaces so you don't have to worry about rolling up your pantleg up or tying your shoes. and you thought getting your finger caught in the drivetrain was bad already...

I've saw a picture of a table saw blade bash ring once. I've done enough damage with regular old chainrings, thank you very much.

Anybody got any more beat-to-**** track bikes? I'm digging those in particular today. I remember one that someone posted a long time ago that had most of the paint chipped off, bare bullhorn handlebars, and the shot was sort of from the front. Can't find it, though. That thing was totally street-worn and it was sexy as hell.

So I don't think that just because a bike is a crappy alt bike, it's "MadMax"

They didn't drive any clown cars in those movies. I'm just sayin'.

True, the swing bikes don't really fit but hat tall bike does, IMO. Think about it, it's overbuilt, has spikes and chainrings and it's just the right height to kick people in the face as you ride by.
